I would place the blame on the dealer, not Ford. However, I certainly understood why you will not buy another Ford...
Dealer is the one that did the work, so they're certainly to blame. But I paid Ford for a safe vehicle, they failed to deliver, and then they failed to deliver again when they paid the dealer for shoddy work.

And again when I called them and they ignored me time after time. That's 20-25 calls over months...to have so little care about a customer's safety when there's clearly something wrong just rubs me the wrong way.

Could have happened with another brand, too, I bet. Just my luck.

Explaining the use case reasons first and then adding potential issues toward then end would probably lead to less caustic replies.
You could be right but some people are just caustic.

you guys get enough snow in CT to need a plow on the regular? you have an extra long driveway? I'm way further north than you and I think I got the snowblower out 2-3 times last winter. when I was a kid we used to get actual snow storms.....
I'm in Central MA(Worcester area). I have a double-wide driveway from the street to the attached garage (30' give or take), a 15' single-wide from the street halfway to the attached garage, then double-wide the next 15' and then another double-wide from the front of the attached garage to the far side of the detached garage (another 60'). I've done it with a snow-blower, but I like sitting in a warm cab listening to music while I plow better. I just use the snow blower to do cleanup of the side and front walkways.

Ford Maverick Time to call it... Satellite vi

The past winters have been fairly quiet, true, and I'm not planning to rush out and put a plow on the Ranger while I still have a friend who plows for me. He's planning to move out of state once his parents have passed, so I like knowing I'll have the option to resume doing it myself.

My 22 was good but the recall on the air bag did me in. Headliner and A-pillar cover needed to be removed and I saw too may horror stories on the headliners getting smudges and not getting reinstalled correctly. I traded it in (without performing the recall work)on a 23 Bronco that I had ordered way back in July 2020. However after daily driving the Bronco for about 6 months, I went ahead and got into a 24 Maverick (I still have my Bronco). As a commuter car, the Maverick is great.
My dealer didn't smudge anything during the airbag recall, but did pinch the harness in the A-pillar, which led to my key fob being unable to lock or unlock the doors and the TPMS to not read the sensors, so that necessitated another trip back to the dealer to repair the harness.

Dealers always seem to find a way to break something. They broke my hood release while doing a recall, but to be honest I blame Ford for coming up with such a oversized flimsy thing in the first place.

Good luck with your Ranger ,I have had two of them . Make sure your transmisson was replaced or get an extended warranty as you are at the end of the power train warranty. The CDF drum is defective and is a 6K-7K rebuild
Why I got rid of my Ranger...
Good to know and thanks for the heads-up. I'll have them print out the service records for me and quote an extended drivetrain warranty.

I like how some people say blame the dealer not Ford! B.S.! If Ford did the job “right “ in the first place, then none of these unnecessary posts would be here! Hmm… maybe I’m onto something. A Ford with no problems, ain’t gonna happen. No I’m not just attacking Ford, it’s happening at all the major auto companies nowadays.

I used them for the extended warranty on the Maverick. Now I have to figure out how to cancel it. Maybe a phone call to them is in order....

My Maverick has been pretty reliable but I can't ignore all the issues people have had as they accumulate miles or the endless stream of recalls. Not to mention, how easily these trucks seem to get totalled from what should have been minor accidents. I've also had occasion to find the bed length confining lately and I miss being able to plow my own driveway. So, I'm throwing in the towel.

On Saturday, my 15K-mile 2022 Maverick XLT Lux will be traded in on a 56K-mile 2019 Ranger XLT extended cab that was ordered with all the goodies (and then some) that the Maverick has. I was able to strike a deal that required making up only a $1677 difference in the OTD bottom line. I'm happy with that.

The concept was brilliant and the design was perfect for the niche it occupied. It's too bad Ford didn't take a bit more time to give it the polish and durability it deserved.

I might, at some point. The Ranger can take a light duty plow. All the major brands that I'm familiar with make the truck-side mounts and harnesses for the Ranger.
