Will the 2025 axles be backwards compatible with older mavericks is now the question.
Remains to be figured out. The 2025 uses a new transmission so it's possible the insert points are different. Someone will have to receive their 2025 and remove the CV axle for us to know. Or call around to different Ford dealerships and ask their maintenance departments until you get an answer.

I had my passenger side cv replaced last week. Now they say (and I agree) I need a drivers side. It is an upgraded part and visually you can tell it’s much higher quality. The shaking was about an 8/10, now with 1 new cv it’s about a 4/10. They expect 1 month for the other side to arrive.

I'm sorry you've had to deal with a tumultuous ownership experience this far, but I'm glad you were able to confirm the new design is better, and it does indeed bolt right up to older mavericks. Here's hoping your ownership experience is a lot smoother moving forward.

Just got my truck back from getting the CV replaced under warranty. I'll have to put it up on my ramps to check the part number.

Below are my old CV axle and the new one. The base part number is the same but the number underneath it is different between them. Top is old. Bottom is new.

I'm guessing the lower number is just a batch number, and since they are the same part number they aren't changed at all? If so, that is disappointing. How do they feel though? Any visual differences?

The part number could be same since those new axles work with existing models and maybe the 25s. Old ones are no longer produced...

Or they got a hold of the old "new" set that was sitting somewhere in a warehouse.

I didn't take detailed pictures of my old one and it looks to be a standard CV axle. It feels great though.

Scheduled next week to (likely) replace mine at 48,000 miles. Hard shudder under firm acceleration. I didn't notice it until I did, but now I can always sense it. I wonder when they started to go bad. I did not know, however, that there was a problem getting new parts. I drive 600 miles each weekend at interstate speeds and will not make another trip until they're fixed.
Replying to my own post. Repaired over the Thanksgiving holiday at 47,000 miles, right front axle. Took about a week for the part to arrive from Nashville. All good… Covered under powertrain warranty.

Big number is serial number.
old made probably 9th week of '22.
new made probably 18th week of '24.
Rest is probably a batch number, and then unique serial number.
HAMTA probably means same model.
Of course the part number is the same.

Much like the FLA battery has the same part number put on it - to make it easy to know it's a replacement. Despite several post pictures showing differences shown in CA, CCA, RH, and made in country.

Same distance of shaft between boots?
I recall that being different from another thread.

Ford replaced my cv’s and no vibration. I’m happy with the turnaround and the way ford handled it. It might as well be a recall, either way it was handled just like one or better. Glad I didn’t have to go over all those stumbling blocks others did, and very much appreciate the help and advice. This is a great forum!!!! Thank you!

Just completed replacement on the right side at 48K, all good. However, now I am aware of similar shudder at highway acceleration. Set up a new appointment and hope to get the other replaced as well.

Can someone please post if the new axles are either an upgrade or different version? Did your repair state anything on your invoice? Did the service department note on your invoice that they are different. Can you call Ford with the part number to verify?

If/When this happens to me, the first thing I am going to ask the service department is if the axle is an upgrade from the original. And if it is, I will post it in here along with the part number and who told me it was an upgrade.

If were just getting the same junk installed, I think I will go aftermarket.
