Just completed replacement on the right side at 48K, all good. However, now I am aware of similar shudder at highway acceleration. Set up a new appointment and hope to get the other replaced as well.

Agree. A stiff headwind really saps the mileage more in my Maverick Hybrid than it did my 2017 Fusion Hybrid.

Replying to my own post. Repaired over the Thanksgiving holiday at 47,000 miles, right front axle. Took about a week for the part to arrive from Nashville. All good… Covered under powertrain warranty.

Yes, they gave me the same lecture...but I was just really asking them to adjust it to make the rubber seal hit the tailgate all the way across. It was installed slightly crooked.

I have exactly the same problem. I would get rid of them if it weren't for the glue that's left on the cover. Seems to be a matter of just getting wet through a car wash or heavy rain. All this time I've been putting it in Eco, which intuitively makes me think that would be the best mileage. Slippery is best? But the best I do on the highway is 36… But I'm going 77 mph in a straight line for five hours. On my 20 mile commute to work at 45 or so, I get about 42 to 44 MPG.

I had a 2017 fusion hybrid platinum, beautiful car. Yes, I do miss it but the dealer offered me too much after I paid it off to pass up the cash. 150K trouble free miles. For that reason, I would've bought another one, but they didn't have it anymore. Maverick was as close as I could come, but...
