You have a Hybrid, why not just bolt to the front connections under the hood.

You're absolutely right. Unfortunately, the charger I have has alligator clamps rather than the eyelet style. It's not really designed to fit in the engine bay whereas the NOCO clearly is

Look at yours closely. My noco has clamps but the clamps are attached with eyelets bolted on to clamps. Maybe yours does also.

I have the EB, but found I wanted a Smart charger since I keep getting the Fordpass alerts that things are being turned off.. I used the Victron Blue IP65. It recondition's batteries as well has Bluetooth to see the status. I ran mine out the right-side tow hook opening. Photos of the wiring and hiding project here

After purchasing a new AGM battery and doing the reset routine numerous times I'm still getting Battery Save Mode on my 23 Hybrid Lux. I just don't drive it enough. So, I've installed a battery maintainer. I'd like to have the maintainer plug available without opening the hood and not dangling in plain sight (see photo). I've looked for any opening that I could pass the plug through from the engine compartment to the outside but can't find any. Ideally the plug could reside in one of the openings in the bumper. Has anyone mounted the plug outside the engine compartment but out of sight? If so, would you share your solution?

I dropped mine down behind the grill and though the tow hook opening, where I velcro the 12v plug.

It's not that you don't drive it enough. It shouldn't matter whether driven or not. The 12v accessories battery under the seat is supposedly charged from the hybrid's high voltage battery through a inverter/charger circuit. The software is evidently turning the charging circuit off when the vehicle is turned off so the battery then drains as the relays in the car incessantly click and click and click. If you walk out into the garage the car senses this and starts clicking again. Open a car door to retrieve something and half a dozen other relays click again. Ford "claims" to have the fix that will be available in Q1 of 2025. We should all go into the dealers en masse and demand they get this accelerated. We shouldn't need to plug an electrical cord into our brand new cars to keep its battery alive. I took ours in for this specific issue and our service manager said he is not at all optimistic that Ford will solve this problem, short of reengineering a new charging method. He said EVERY hybrid Maverick they have sold has been back in for this specific problem and they do not have an answer and he said Fiord doesn't currently, but claims they are working on one. We will see.

I am starting to wonder what I have gotten myself into. My Maverick Lariat Hybrid should be delivered in March. I live in Mississippi and before that in Texas, and I have never had to use a battery maintainer or charger on a regular basis in 58 years of driving. The only time I used a charger was to get to where I could get a new battery and install it, or when I had skipped maintenance and let my battery terminals become corroded. My 2021 RAV4 had a dead battery twice in the first 2 weeks I had it. Toyota installed new software that should have been installed before it left the factory and I have never had an issue since. It normally gets driven around 10 miles a day. Has Ford really become this incompetent? Are new vehicles really this complicated? If my battery is dead how do I get in my truck?

Just a short note..... if your hood is up, it's pretty hard to drive away while the charger is connected.....

True enough, but I don't like leaving it open for days at a time, and it blocks the garage IP Camera that keeps an eye on things... :)

I ran a fused dc port to the grill. Hard to find a crevice to run the wires through.

Thought it would be good to point out to others reading this, because this idea of reseting the BMS to get out of this issue is mentioned every once in awhile as a solution.
As you've proven it may for a time seem to work.
But it's not a good idea.

Because reseting the BMS only tells the system - here's a new battery with full charge - learn from here.
As one item, it tracks battery age.
Another set of items, it tracks charges and discharges accumulated while key on and key off.

So if you got a low battery because it thought a drop of 0.4 V was constant change, then it turns on battery saver features.
Then you BMS reset it, and now say 12.2 is the new level to start from.
Now it drops to 11.8 say, and the saver kicks on again.

Of course this is merely chasing an issue into a worse condition, as the initial fast charging it does when you start driving - just doesn't happen as long as it needs to if it thinks the battery is already at upper level of charge, from the last BMS reset.

As the manual mentions - that reset is for when you change the battery, and as recommended even that should be topped off with trickle charge.

I'd recommend some night after a multi-day charge, disconnect the charger, do your last BMS reset, lock truck, and let it learn overnight. Per the manual instructions.
Let it see what full charge is again and reset it's "expectations".

You better check and make sure you can put the charger in the engine compartment.just saying!

Here you are.

Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to post such a completely explanatory photo. The NOCO is perfectly sized to fit comfortably in the bay. Much appreciated.
