Parking Lot Commandos: Door Dings

I got dinged by an acorn falling from an oak tree at sams today. Thought I was ok parking in the shade, won't do that again.
Too funny, same here last year, but in my own back yard. I had taken it out of the garage for a couple of hours while I worked in there. When I got back in the driver's seat, noticed an acorn sitting in the dip of the hood.

Its a vehicle thing, if I drive the Maverick I am clustered like a mother hen, If I drive Big Blue
(04, F-150) I have space available to access :D that rust must be a deterrent thing

Thank you for posting the side moulding options.
I'm interested.
I got the Dawn Enterprise ones. They are located in Ohio and they paint to match. Give your paint code and they ship them ready to go. Here is pics of mine in Hot Pepper Red. I had the body shop that painted my grill and hood scoop install them. I had them put them on slightly higher than suggested. Used my Silverado and my Focus to see where those 2 vehicles would make contact with my Maverick door.

Thank you for the pictures. They look great, that's exactly what I wany. I intended on having a body shop install them.
In my opinion they're installed exactly where yours are at the apex of the roundness of the door

I try to park where one side is protected. Next to the cart corral or a curb.
Pay attention around the cart corrals. Some people just aim the cart toward the corral and give it a push, more so when the corral is in a lower part of the lot.

I bought side moulding. Some people don‘t it, but it has prevented several dings on my door. You can see the marks on the moulding.
What’s worse, door dings, or side molding?

Doesn't matter where you park, I've always been one to park further away. Some asshat with a hoopty always seems to park right on top of you regardless. it's like a nice vehicle just attracts retards and morons.

To me, it doesn't really matter where you park. There's always gonna be a prick that sees you're parked far away and intentionally park right on top of you to piss you off, typically bigger trucks. It's like they do it out of a sense of superiority and ego. They get some sick, cheap thrill out of making other people feel small and insecure. My truck already has slight wear and tear such as paint chips and a door ding on the driver rear quarter panel so I'm over the point of obsessing over it. I still park a little ways away but not to the extreme of the last spot or absolutely away from everyone. Sure, it's more exercise that way but it's not worth it when the car is already weathered. There's too many inconsiderate assholes out there to have anything pristine.

I avoid parking lots and buy Amazon, never got a ding in my own driveway.
Also, on a serious note with all the newer cars being aluminum skinned instead of steel they ding easier.
Part of life although parking farther is better than closer if it's an option.
How did you get aluminum skin on your Mav? Mine's steel except the hood.

I park far and get my steps in. Also, if I see a Corvette I will park next to it :)
I do the same... Except, where I am you don't see too many.. Corvettes.. :p
