Got mine Dec 15th 2021 3 years ago almost. I park away from most cars and look for spots where there is a yellow walkway on one side if I see it. I don't mind walking more for the exercise. I am older and retired so usually don't shop at night. I have done this for years with many only new cars. I had a 2004 Mustang Cobra 12 years. Not 1 door ding.

Not 1 ding yet in the Maverick but did get a rock that cracked my windshield and was replaced.

I know the pain. I consider myself lucky.

The commandos have gotten me twice now. (Parking lot dings) How about you?
My late wife always parked her 1968 Camaro far from anyone to prevent such damage. However the car suffered a significant door ding when a yokel parked next to her. She was sitting in the car when the damage occurred. The man laughed at her when she objected and walked off.

She waited a few minutes, retrieved a ball peen hammer and smashed every light.

Then again, if you go to a regular Big Box store Home Depot, Lowe's, Sam's, Costco, Walmart, Target and park out in The Boondocks somebody parking next to you has just cut your chances and their's of being hit in the side by a wind driven shopping cart by 50%..
What I fear more on Windy days is even with a cautious, conscientious person the wind can catch their door and swing it out into the side of the truck. I have changed parking spots to face the wind, just because of that possibility.
The biggest problem getting door dings, is from the rear doors of vehicles with the sharp lower rear corner of the door that ends over the rear wheel arch of there rides. Passangers swing open the door when exiting, and the point puts a deep dent on your truck. Kids in the back seats are the ones that cause these dents. (they park next to you after your parked)

I got dinged by an acorn falling from an oak tree at sams today. Thought I was ok parking in the shade, won't do that again.
I wonder if that's the source on ours of this weird small dent up high where a door definitely wouldn't hit it. I hadn't thought about it!!!

I was thinking of getting running boards that way at least shorter vehicle door will hit them before the vehicle
my 5'3" daugher has a Jeep wrangler with a 6" lift......got her a set of iBoard running board/steps, figuring it'd be of some help for her getting in...but NOOOOOO..she doesn't even use 'em to get into her jeep..but refuses to take 'em off as they've prevented multiple instances of door dings & instead, the iBoards have become her door battering ram. she checks her boards & surrounding cars' doors when she leaves work & there are always new marks on her boards/other vehicle's doors, but in 3 years, has had zero door dings

Marcello,
It has been a year.
Are you still happy with your body side moldings?
It looks like you single-handedly applied them straight using the correct method.
Can I ask why you didn't go with color coded painted ones?

Very happy yes ! They look as good as day one.

I went with the DIY because at the time no one was making Maverick ones.
