Given the timing, I'm guessing this new CV axle design is what the 2025 has. Ford saw the issue, and because the 2025 facelift needs to be tested extensively anyways, they reengineered the CV axles, tested them in the '25 prototypes and confirmed it fixed it.

It's a real problem that needs to be addressed. Lets hope there's some truth to this, and Ford will provide an upgrade to the "new improved" axles. Seems that would be better than numerous failures and many disgruntled customers -- some maybe for life!

It depends on if the NHTSA gets involved or not. If it is deemed unsafe to drive then it will be required to be recalled.
Exactly. And not likely.
Failed CVs are rarely an instantaneous issue that causes loss of control.

My dealer has acknowledged the problem on my 22 XLT but unless they give me a loaner, I'm not leaving it in for any amount of time more than overnight. I'm looking at Tacoma's but it won't fit in the garage
My dealer acknowledged mine also and told me I Dan safely drive it until the new ones come in. No estimate on when that will happen. If anything goes wrong it’s on them now.

Sry for being ignorant, but what is the issue with the cv axels?
I was wondering if it affects Hybrids more than ecoboosts.

I will believe it when I see it.

@Ford Motor Company needs to issue a recall to replace all the known defective parts. I went through one set around 35K miles and am sitting at 63K on the second set.

It seems to impact the hybrids more than the Ecoboost. Why? I don't think anyone has an idea.

NOW you guys got me all worried. I only have 13K miles on my 23. I do about 10.5 a year.

I CANT have a loaner in the summer. Winter okay BUT summer I transport my kayaks. I would rather put in after markets CV joints myself than have a loaner. Assuming by the time of me hitting 20K they make them . Not a big job for me. Boy I hope they get their butts in gear at Ford.

Me thinks the hybrids have more torque with the CV transmission, the electric drive motor is almost instantaneous power, I really noticed the wobble on a 20% uphill slope in Charleston West Virginia from a dead stop, cornering up the slope, dragging the 1400# camper, it was really straining the axles, I can still feel it on flat ground now, every time I go anywhere, I pray each time I get in it "Please get me across town and back." "I've lost that Loving feeling," to quote the Righteous Brothers.
