Yep. That's built into sync 4. It's almost instant on boot. Way better than the AAwireless dongle I was using. Also it's way more stable. The stock radio was freezing on me all the time and I would have to force rest it.

Yea it works pretty good too. Surprisingly quick to boot and connect.

Not at all. Apim is from a 2024 escape, screen is from a 2023 transit.

just use same year or newer apim and youll be good.

we ran into issues with the escape 13.2 screen because the programing wasnt in a 22 apim and the screen is 23

So I'm all done. Thanks to everyone in this thread. I started out with a XLT so I had to combine this tutorial with the one about adding sync to the XLT. I also went with a 12" Transit screen instead of the 13.2" escape screen. I prefer the taller more square aspect ratio. The only thing is it's just a tad smaller than the original radio cutout so it leaves a small gap. I plan on filling the gap with sugru unless someone has a better idea. Thanks again to everyone.

God no. I took the one from the 8" screen, did a bunch of modifying and then slapped it on. It's not pretty but you can't see it.

I figured that would be the case. I have the larger screen to mount once my cables come. The 12” fits the opening better for retrofitting.
With the larger screen, maybe later the MY25 dash piece will be available. I would relocate the radio controls even though I never use them just to have the hazard indicator for safety. Maybe put them in/near the glovebox if the cable can reach.

You'll need the items in the original post but instead the 12" screen so sync4 APIM, passthrough, power cable and the screen cable.

Ah, gotcha. For some reason I was thinking the Transits were still running Sync 3 driving the 12" screen.

I finished modifying my passthrough harness today. I took my time but it turned out great. Now to find some time to pull the truck apart to install everything and see if it works.

You can also purchase a 12 to 13.2" upgrade kit from fordsync4.com
Looks pretty nice but a bit pricey.

I have purchase one of their kits - FYI they are scumbags. Take days to answer emails, product specifications are questionable- not even sure if they give instructions on the Forscan modifications.

I just did the 12" with an f150 apim module. Only issue running into is blue screen on my backup camera..going to dive into Tonight or tomorrow.
