I think people keep confusing "marketing target" and overall sales demographic. Ford is directing advertising dollars at younger, urban, and minority buyers who otherwise might not have considered/bought the Maverick. Likely they felt that other demographics would see inherent value in an affordable, fuel efficient compact truck and not require as much advertising explicitly directed towards them. Also the Hybrid isn't available for (delivered) sales yet where more younger demand may lie.Only 1/4 of Maverick sales are to people 18-35? Id say they really missed their targeted sales demographic.
