jeez dude, no need to go off. I did not say this is a scam, the product sucks, etc. I simply agreed the site was iffy.

considering you were aware of the Fast Mavericks debacle I would have expected you to be cautious about handling unknown / new / unproven vendors a pile of money. I do believe the product exists, but I would be curious about self-installation or the cost of vendor installation.

Yeesh, maybe give the guy some time to shake out the kinks?

It's a weird amount of defensiveness when folks pointed out how sketchy it looks. When I've seen this in the past it's because it was actually sketchy. When the defender has so few posts that doesn't make me feel better about it.

I can see how this would be useful for people who use the Maverick solely as a work truck. I'm assuming it is non-destructive so that you can put the seats back in before you sell/trade? IMO, this is a solution to a very niche problem. Especially given the price compared to the value of the truck this is likely to go into (ie. XL). But that's just my take. If you have the money and it works for you, knock yourself out.

I agree the site looks suspect, which needs to be addressed by the seller. Even if it just involves removing the unused pages. Honestly, he might do better off just using a Square storefront or just selling on eBay. I don't know if the sales volume would justify a standalone website.

Calm down; this is an internet forum. I literally said what he said but with more words.

I think, in light of a former vendor.
That had a very cool slick website.
But left customers hanging. I think there's adequate reason to be cautious and a little trigger shy.
Unfortunately, one non-responsive vendor can ruin it for the next up start.
A potential internet business owner who can not take the time to refine and polish the website which is the face of the company. It does not instill confidence to people who maybe interested in his product.
That's my opinion you may see it otherwise.

I have been following this person's Instagram for months. They have shown off multiple prototypes. I have absolutely no reason to believe that this is not a legitimate business that has put in hundreds of hours into making this product a reality. The site could and should be improved.

The comparison to the Sync 4 folks is not fair. The pictures they use are stock Ford photos...

Yup. Full examination of website shows incomplete website build using cookie cutter off the shelf website building software. Domain lookup yields recent registration by individual owner whose address is some second hand semiconductor vendor in Tempe, AZ.. Flakey and scary stuff to be sure. I gotta say the purported "product" sure looks good.
Only thing I like is the dog..................

Not sure why people are using the completeness of a website as the litmus test for the authenticity of a business. The web is full of fraudulent sites complete in build.

Did they launch an incomplete website? Perhaps. Regardless, credit card transactions can be cancelled for failure to deliver goods and product fraud in general can be charged back.

Trashing on a vendor publicly because they rushed a site out is unnecessary. If you don't want to buy a product for whatever reason, don't buy it. Just don't crush a potentially legitimate small business just to be petty. Starting a small business is hard enough.

It's weird that they took so many photos of it, but never once showed one of the access panels open..... I mean that's what makes it more useful and more valuable than a piece of plywood screwed to the back and another laid down on the floor.

I love the idea, but I would prefer something that could be easily swapped back to the seating configuration. Still, gives me something to ponder in case I ever get around to making something for myself.

Does it cut into the center console? Looks like it does.

But other than that it does look great. $1k is way out of my price range but I do like it very much. I've been wanting to do something like this for a long time.

After FAST... yea.. I'm scared.
I'm betting a member will come up with a DIY.

There is nothing "petty" about observing that their website is shit and then making a cautionary comment about it on our little community forum. It's hardly picketing in front of their business with a bullhorn. Anybody who is interested in the product can still try and contact them, can roll the dice with a purchase, or can look for them on another platform where they apparently have a more legitimate presence.

As I said originally, it's a cool concept. But as part of their storefront and company image, IMHO it would've been better to hold that website at bay until they figured out the toggles that turn on/off pages. I do hope they succeed, but this thread of haters vs. apologists is probably not going to be the deciding factor.
