How MUCH power does one NEED? I judge it by can the Mav get past a slower car going 50 mph in a 55 mph road were i cruise at 60 mph. My last car was a 2020 Ecosport 2 .0. This is much faster. Can get by slow car quite quickly without taking up tons or road to get by. So yes it has plenty of power.

oh one note the NEW prius has went way up in power has about the same as hybrid Mav now. It was pathetic before. Plus power to weight ratio not sure its as showing as you may think, The NEW Ram with straight six on TFL youtube channel blew away Ford f-150 v6 even though Hp and torque about the same, in 0 to 60 test. Plus ford had 10 speed Ram 8 speed.

My long ago Pontiac trans am 455 4 speed with nitrous could run a 12 seconds 1/4 mile. Plus I went for a ride in my friends 69 blown a 10-71 blower (not smaller 6-71) 513 Camaro which could do nines in 1./4. It was tubed and had NEEDED wheelie bars. So I do know what fast is,.

No thanks. Can't stand the fake shift experience. It always reminds me of a bipolar clunk-o-matic conventional automatic transmission that can't decide which gear to be in, during "punch it" events.
Sport mode isn't something I would want to use in everyday driving but it's good for certain circumstances I rarely use Sport mode in my Maverick Hybrid but there have been times it was good to have. Merging on a busy highway where everyone is already doing 80+ MPH is a good example. In relation to that and to answer the original question of the OP, yes I have been quite surprised by the power, especially when using Sport mode.

and we had a 2023 Ecoboost mustang as a loaner back in June when my wife was getting some maintenance done on her Bronco Sport. I can say I'm more impressed with the hybrid then I was with the Ecoboost mustang. I'm sure the mustang is faster but it didn't seem it and the transmission sucked.
I have a 2022 Ecoboost Mustang convertible and the trick with those is to change the driving mode from Normal to Sport. It makes a huge difference. Mine is a manual transmission though so that might also help but I'm not sure because I've never driven one with the 10 speed Auto.

There is a certain stretch of highway just outside a nearby town known as the "drag race". It is the last red light before a 1/2 mile straight stretch of 4 lane non-residential road , where it is kind of a daily thing after work where traffic competes to see who can make it to the cutoff point back to 2 lanes at the end of this stretch . Wife and I happened to be side by side at the light ,when she attempted to "smoke " me in the Taurus against my Mav. Hybrid. I was impressed as the floored Mav. came into it and passed her. I know ...a 2013 Taurus SE is no racecar, but at almost 300 hp it can hold it's own against a lot of less capable sedans. Mav. impressed me when floored-I guess the electric kicked in with the gas motor..........still a fun ride even at 45+ mpg .:)
I'm more than happy with 191HP total on a small truck like the Maverick . In 0-60 tests it's only a titch behind the EB.

I run the Infocar app with a obd device. It will show the hybrid percent charge. When you step on it whether the ice is running or not, I see the hybrid charge drop a lot as the electric motor aids the acceleration of the Maverick.

0-60 in the mid 7's is plenty fast for any non-sports car vehicle. The fact that it gets 40+ mpg in the practical packaging is what really seals the deal.

At some point, speed/power is just a ____ measuring contest. There is always someone faster (really just costs money) - and what's the point? A Geo Metro can get speeding tickets. Wanna race? Do it on a track.

If I didn't drive in a state that has a lot of bad drivers and is #1 for traffic. The power I get would be good enough and is for the most cases. However that's not the case.

Considering at one time I thought my '89 LX 5.0 was fast with 225HP, I'd say the I'm impressed with how well the Maverick pulls. I wasn't expecting much with 192HP, but that immediate electric torque compensates enough to put a smile on my face.
Dang, they gave you a extra horsepower.

It's funny that the 0-60 times for my Maverick, Honda minivan, and 24 year old Miata are all about .3 seconds from each other (Maverick being fastest, underpowered "sport car" being slowest, minivan in the middle).

I wonder if a tankful of 89 octane would be worth trying (just for shits and giggles) to further improve the performance. I'm just too frugal to try it , since it does so well on Top Tier regular 87 gas . Not having a turbo (like my Fusion or EB Mustang) , which they both "wake up" when treated to Premium-just wondering if anyone has opted for the extra cost fuel. Around here in Indiana-there is a 50 cent upcharge just for midgrade-$1.00 extra per gallon for 93 octane-hard to justify for me.

I was surprised with the acceleration of mine. Was on I-70 in Ohio and the road had cement barriers on each lane. 18 wheelers had to use the center lane. I did not like the way he was weaving over to my lane. As soon as I got a break in the barrier I started passing on the right lane. I was going about 50 and I looked down after I completed the pass I was going 80. Surprised me how quick it got to 80. That is the fastest I ever had it going.

The Mav kind of reminds me of 80s and earlier cars. Lots of torque, mostly at the low end. 0-50% power is a nice big grin. But there isn't much in the second half. But it seems like a lot of cars front-load their throttle ranges these days so they seem more powerful than they really are, and you don't find out there's no top end until later.

There's still no beating electric motor torque at 0 RPM though.

I haven't "punched" my hybrid Mav yet. I'm afraid I'll break the CV axles! Just kidding! I bought the hybrid for fuel economy so I drive easy. I have my 67 Shelby GT500 when I need to put my foot into it! :)
I will say I am impressed with the Mav, it scoots along pretty well as far as I am concerned.
