My dad MUST have gotten a lemon. His has been at the dealer for a plethora of repairs since he got it new. I think it’s been in the dealer 10 times now. Maybe more.

Yesterday my dad went to start the truck and it started but he has NO working cluster display screen at all anymore. It’s just all black.
Anyone else have this issue?
My dad also said the co pilot 360 didn’t work when a car was on his driver side the other day and should have illuminated, but it didn’t.

I feel so bad for my dad. His has been one problem after another ever since he got it.

My dashboard rattles so bad and I have some interior rattles but at least mine has been overall reliable finally after ford fixed the issues that mine was having.

Sadly, this has been the most unreliable vehicle my dad has ever owned and it’s his first Ford.

FWIW there was a recall for this issue earlier this year Recall #24C01.

As for the CP360 hard to say without knowing the position of the vehicle. If the other vehicle's rear was approximately ahead of the rear wheels of the truck, that may have already been too far forwards for the CP360 radar to be detecting anymore; at that point it'd be visible in the mirror/window.

Do you know if he's had all the recalls done? It seems the hybrids have had more than their fair share of software, battery, wiring type issues. But there solid once the bugs get fixed. Sad your dad has had such unfortunate luck, especially being his first ford. That's a ruff way to start out with a brand. All I can say is my stance on any vehicle has been, if its not reliable, I get rid of it, basically 3rd times a charm in my book and its gone, moving on to something else. Good Luck

So sorry to hear of your dad's problems and your rattles. Has he had the software updates done? On the blind spot warnings in the mirrors, mine failed to work the very first week of ownership. I went into the "steering wheel menu," disabled it, then re-enabled it. That fixed the issue.

Other than software updates, I've not needed the dealer do anything to my Hybrid in 10 months/16k miles of ownership. I do have rattles, but I'm not letting the dealer remove the dash to fix the worst one. I fear they would either not get everything put back together properly or introduce even more rattles. :(

Good luck.

Sorry to hear that. Mine has not had any troubles so far for the first 15000 miles. Long term I am hoping for average reliability but bought a 6 year 125K mile warranty just incase. My previous Fords have been less reliable than others I have owned.

If I was having that many issues though I would probably get rid of it.

The truck has been to the dealership 10 times and he hasn't lemon lawed it or tried to sell it despite the fact that he'd probably get more for it used than what he paid new?

Hybrids have software issues, but it's still preferable to what the ecoboost guys are going through with turbos and transmissions going out.

Lemon laws typically require it be repeat visits (often at least 3) for the same issue.

I had the black dashboard appear to me last year. Happened once. Somewhere on this forum I asked the question and was told to disconnect the battery and reconnect. That fixed my issue.

I haven't heard of Ecoboost turbo and transmission issues??? I will look into that. I have a 2022 Ecoboost, over 2 years old, no problems. Only recalls.

Let's not turn this into a Hybrid vs. Ecoboost issues pissing match again, mmkay? It's not relevant to the topic of this discussion. @OleFordGuy made a comment that was relevant to this discussion.

I feel for your Dad and I feel lucky for myself. I've read about some owners having a multitude of problems but knock on steel, mine has not yet had any issues, just the recalls.

On the dash My 2020 ecosport had that happen. I disconnected battery for a few minutes Connected back up, dash back on. Never happened again,. Happened at about 2 year mark on ther Ecosport . Sold Eco for Mav at almost 3 year ownership point of Ecopsort. I would TRY that unless you already took to dealer.
