Two major issues with my 2024 XLT Hybrid since taking delivery Nov. 2023.
1. I go to San Diego 4 times a year to visit kids and grandkids. In December 2023, on my my way home to Arizona, at 75MPH, the engine quit running. I was in the left lane and pulled over to the left shoulder just before the construction in the area had closed the other 2 lanes, leaving me on the shoulder right at the only open lane. After turning the key off and then on the engine restarted. Now I had to get back in the only lane open with traffic backed up at 45mph. Took a few minutes but all worked out well, but that incident is now always in the back of my mind.
I recall reading on the forum at least one time where another Maverick owner had the same issue.
Is this a rare occasion, or are there others having the same problem?

2. Recently I was at Home Depot and ready to load items in the bed of the Maverick, but the key fob did not unlock the doors. It acted as if the battery in the fob was dead. After several failed attempts I used the key to unlock the drivers door which set off the alarm. Putting the key in the ignition stopped the alarm. Drove home with no other issues, and none since. (Wish I had the keypad on the door, but refused to have the new battery operated one installed)
Has anyone had this same issue?
Me: 2024 Lariat hybrid, 1800 miles on it. I have not had the engine quit but have not taken it on a long trip. Very disconcerting to hear this.

I do have unpredictabe electrical/computer experiences: drivers door randomly self locks but other doors don't, radio loudness on startup is excessive. Sync 3 - Listening to Sirius XM - after acknowledging a popup traffic warning on the screen, I get a split screen display with moving map on the left and Sirius XM display on the right half. Actually, I like the split screen but it goes away after vehicle shut down. Anyone know how to set Sync 3 to always display the split screen?

Other than that, getting 43+mpg delights me.

If I ever hear back for the remedy, Ill post it
43+ is awesome. Surprised on how often it is all electric. No complaints on the mpg.

I get the radio volume aways jumps up high, have to mess with plugging in and then unplugging and then plugging in again to get CarPlay to work properly. Always a hassle! Then also the backup camera sometimes says take vehicle to dealer to service. MPG has degraded significantly but driving mostly freeway I guess that is expected too.

Your FOB issue could have been caused by interference from automatic door openers / security systems in big box stores. This is a known issue with all manufacturer's. I've not had a problem with the Maverick but my Bronco had an issue in a big box store parking lot where the FOB would not start the vehicle without putting the FOB in the dead FOB battery location.

The technology is there yet. It's Ford's implementation of it that is lacking.
I beg to differ. I watch the struggle daily by folks who care about their customers then watch those customers abuse a service employee for their choice and purchase. None of which involved those service folks, who did not, as I said build, break or thrust that vehicle upon you. You are all still buying experimental technology. You wont find many dealership employees driving EV’s or really hybrids. We know better. The manufacturers are still learning how to integrate mechanical into computers. Which is why a new drivetrain appears with each new model. Your engine and transmission are new and unknown entities market wise. YOU chose to be a test subject. How to marry electric to mechanical. They are not using another bulletproof system because there is not one for hybrids and EV’s. Just because the advertising says so? Does not mean it is a cakewalk every time. There will ALWAYS be issues with ANY vehicle. They are not magic carpets. Go walk thru any dealership. Ev’s and hybrids are a big presence on the WIP side of the lot. For a reason. Most have angry owners who think we are slack jawed morons. Some folks are normal humans. Dont be a slack jaw. Understand that YOU bought a new experiment. No one else. Your gripe is with Ford. Not your local dealer who has to say “How high”? When Ford says jump. We have to follow THIER rules and procedures. Call them. Dont diss the folks actually trying to help you. Ford LED the way with this technology. Every manufacturer has major EV and hybrid issues. Because NO ONE is there yet. Like it or not. This is still very much new technology. I would not ever have considered the Maverick if had only been available as a hybrid. I dont do unknown with tens of thousands of dollars. I made an informed decision. Did you take those considerations into account and make a difficult decision or did you just want the exciting possibilities? Then rank on folks who had nothing to do with your purchase when you had difficulties? How about be nice to people trying to help you while understanding they have no magic wands or crystal balls and have to wait for the Wizard like everyone else. Your problem is with Ford. Call and get angry with them. Not us. We are not Ford Motor Corp. we are Joe Smith Ford. A franchise to sell and service vehicles. We are NOT Ford. Learn the difference.

Dude, the Hybrid has been used on the Escape for YEARS. Ford originally licensed the technology from Toyota, who has been building Prius and other hybrids for DECADES. Don't let your jealousy get you all riled up.

Agreed on this. On my Prius V, if I have my phone in the same pocket as my keys, it interferes with the key fob. I have to move my phone or keys to unlock the doors.

Manufacturers do need to work on their programming skills and testing. Even our Sienna & Prius have occasional software glitches. Fortunately, nothing as serious as the car shutting down or going into limp mode, but clear glitches. It reminds me of the early days of the android operating system where I'd have to frequently reboot my phone to reset the system. Now my phone is on for weeks and months without even a hiccup.... hopefully car companies can get there.
