Nice recovery on the lens. Sucks it is so hard to R & R.

We breaking clips

If it wasn't for the clip type on the left and right sides at the front of the cluster... we wouldn't have issues like that.

Hopefully the dash panel holds properly when I put it back on after PPF.

I have looked all over on that bottle of 303 multi surface cleaner.
I cannot find any warning not to use it on clear plastic.
If there is no warning on your bottle you may want to get a hold of Gold Eagle manufacturer of 303.
It cannot hurt to get them involved.

So it looks like the instrument cluster for the XL and XLT is sold as 1 pre-assymbled unit. Sales for about $900.00. This why you probably cannot find just the lens. The instrument cluster in the lariot is diffrent then the Xl/XLT and is built diffrently.

I didn’t really see anything that would prevent ford from offering a lens to XL/XLT people. The lariat lens comes with a plastic surround just like the XLT has, and it’s pre attached to that surround. The only differences to my eyes when I had the lariat lens in my hands was clip positioning and screw hole placement.

Well, I am not the original poster of this thread and I do not need an instrument cluster lens.

my recommendation was to order using the part number in this thread from Bob Howard PDC. It’s about $35 shipped and it’s brand new
I already returned the one I purchased, unfortunately.

I oversprayed glass cleaner on my 2016 f150's instrument cluster lense and it did the same thing. Thankfully they had replacements. It's just asinine they don't sell them separately for the xl/xlt mavericks.

Looking at the other posts..
For someone in the future with this issue..
Would a 'Boneyard" part be the answer.
Since, many Maverick boneyard residents have "Rear-end" damage..

Would a 'Boneyard" part be the answer.
Since, many Maverick boneyard residents have "Rear-end" damage..

like, clusters pulled from “junkyard” Collisions? Even these are listed on eBay for $250+.
For $40 in on a PPF install… I recommend everyone reading this go that route instead of having to potentially deal with this down the line. It just makes sense

MY post was to offer an alternative to the $900, factoy-fresh part.
If the Lens and housing are infact ONE-PIECE..

I personally, have NEVER cleaned my dash lens with anything else, but soap and water on a soft (now micro-fibre) cloth...
