Hello everybody fairly new here bought my truck about three weeks ago and I’m loving most of it. The suspension is great really quick and zippy has all the storage that I want, but I’m having some serious issues with the vehicle at 21,700 miles…

1. When I am coming to a stop, especially from highway speeds, the transmission will bog when shifting down from 3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st while breaking. Its like im driving a stick shift poorly and sends you forward in yout seat, also doesnt seem to understand how to shift up at times especially when I step on it.

2. The car entered limp mode on the highway going 70 yesterday. Went to 4k rpm and throttle stopped working. No dash lights weirdly. Note: I installed lariat taillights two days before this. Could this be it?

3. Weird clinks from the engine bag at random. Dont know if this is just normal but she clinks sorta more often than makes me comfortable. Is this normal?

4. A weird clicking on startup from what seems to be behind the glove box. Is this normal as well?

If anyone has insight on any of these issues or has experienced the same things please let me know.

All that said I understand why so many people love this car, just wish I got one that worked well from the rip. Taking it to ford on Monday and explaining the same issues to them and will report back.

None of those things sounds remotely normal other than the random sounds from the engine bay. There a lot of those that happen.

Unfortunately there is not a quick and easy way to check the transmission fluid level, but that would normally be my first action.

That said, based on your other posts, it sounds like you bought this truck with a tune and also some Forscan tweaking. That may include transmission reprogramming. I really think you need to have this truck reset to the as-built condition and start over from there.

Would that be something that the dealer could do or I would do? I was able to confirm that there likely was not a tune though. Just forscan
