First Truck, do I need a spray in liner?

HF makes a couple different thick rubber mats. I have a patio area that I put four of them down on.

I had to cut them with a fine tooth jig saw.

Thanks for the tip. This looks like a great option instead of the more expensive and unavailable Ford bed mat. I have mine ordered and will pick it up today or tomorrow. Total cost was $54.11 and store is only 15 miles from me.

The Maverick bed dimensions are:

• 2022 Maverick bed length – 54.4 inches
• 2022 Maverick bed width – 53.3 inches (42.6 in. at wheelhouse)

So using a 4' (48") x 6' (72") will be a little short depending which way it is installed.

If you install it tight side to side then their will be a gap of 3.2" at the top and bottom of the bed.

If you install it tight top to bottom then their will be a gap of 2.65" on each side.

Thanks for the links. Nice to know you can cut it so easily with a utility knife. Probably gonna leave the gaps at the sides. More important to protect the edge near the tailgate IMO.

I have have had all 4 choices with out, with factory spray and aftermarket, and drop in,
drop in held up good great protection about 1/4 thick but always worried if it was rusting underneath will retain water under it, I like the factory spray because the texture is not as rough as the aftermarket spayed liner but held up great, no liner bed is going to get scratched up and will form rust in a mater of days if that don't bother you don't get it. I dont want rust anywhere even under the vehicle in a few years you have a hole besides looks like crap. My choice is spray in from the factory is less expensive than aftermarket 400/500 or more heard there was a price increase could be 500/600 for aftermarket, factory was 350 I think. Note: I seen every printed and posted on the maverick they were saying if you ordered the spray in liner it COULD HOLD UP THE BUILD. Unless its in a package XLT or lariat.

Spray in bed liner is the last resort if all else fails. I have a Bedrug bedmat. If I find that I am getting scratches then spray in is an option. In my last truck I hauled coal and I had a drop in liner. My current Frontier for the farm I haul hay and feed, it has a drop in. The Maverick has lights and cubby's in the bed. Could you imagine a half ton of coal in the Maverick bed covering the lights and cubby and using a shovel to take out the coal and avoiding all the breakable stuff even with a spray in liner. I do not believe Ford designed the bed to haul gravel to fix the driveway. It will haul what I buy at Walmart and Lowe's and maybe a few bags of horse feed.

Spray in liners do not effect drainage unless done improperly.

Has anyone gotten a quote from Line-x for either Premium or Xtra on the 2022 Ford Maverick yet?

In Sparks Nevada I was quoted $525 and $700 for Line-X standard and Premium. The saleslady said if I was going to have a tonneau cover that she would suggest standard.
