First Truck, do I need a spray in liner?

Is a bed liner needed on a truck?

Even if it is a restraint and delays my build one of the major sticking points for me not taking one of the dealer stock Mav EB AWD was the lack of a spray in bedliner.

Especially in XL trim there isn't a lot of noise deadening or sound proofing so in addition to protecting your bed I think the spray in bedliner also adds a small degree of quietness and build quality.

Thank you for the response! I’m in Florida and I originally had the spray in bed liner on my order but the dealership ended up talking me out of it saying it would take longer for the build. But I also feel I’m gonna have to wait anyways so I feel I should have just left it on the order. Has anyone added it after? In regards to the Ford Factory bed liner do you know if it has sun protection? Because that’s a great point I know I’ll need that where I’m at.
My dealer is doing mine for the same price as the factory so I paid him the $500. They farm it out to LineX locally anyway and said they can get it done within 2 weeks after delivery. I’ve had a couple of trucks without a bed liner and regretted it. Scratches and rust in the bed really detract from the look of a decently maintained vehicle (not use for work).

Specially with the bed of this truck being so low, a scratched bed is much more visible and, hence an eyesore. To me it'd be like a scratched trunk lid on a sedan.
