So I got a call today from my local dealer asking if I wanted to get the drop in liner verses the spray in as it will speed up my build date , I ordered the Maverick the beginning of August, was wondering if anyone else has gotten the call, a local friend got a similar call a week or so ago they ordered in June I think
I am in Lincoln NE

One is sprayed in, the other is dropped in.
Spray-in bonds to the surface. Dropped in, sits on the surface as a thickish layer of plastic.

Spray means no place for stuff to get stuck between the bed and the liner.

Drop in leaves a chance debris and moisture can get in between.

You can replace a drop in if you damage it. If you damage a spray in, it’s likely the bed is damaged too.

Pros and Cons. If you really want the truck now, the drop in is probably fine

I ended up canceling my spray-in bedliner. The next week I got scheduled! Once I got my truck I took it to a local place to get a spray-in and he uses the same formula Ford does. It looks amazing and glad I canceled when I did!

I LOVE my Maverick!

Yeah I was sooooooooo glad I canceled back when I did. I'm sure I still wouldn't have it if I didn't. Minus the Ford logo on the bed, mine looks just as good!

Good luck!!

Shoveling mulch from a drop in plastic bed liner is easier. Shoving my golf clubs in a drop in plastic bed liner is also easier. There are enough tie downs in the bed to keep things from sliding around when hauling objects. Spray in bed liners look awesome though.

Some folks have put a drop in liner over a spray in liner.
Your choice if you want to put a bed mat over that.
It comes down to convenience and personal preference..

No simple answer. Both have their fans, both have their detractors. One must simply choose after careful thought the best solution for him or her.

I simply chose the drop in modular bedliner because after using my Ford Pass Points it cost me $150.00 out the door and the LineX spray in I was quoted $600.00 with a 50 mile one way drive to the installer. As one can see, the LineX was a hard pass for me even though I have nothing against them.

If our ordered Mav Lariat didnt come with the spray-in as part of the pkg... would not have added the OEM version.

Would highly recommend going with Line-X spray-in product instead. The Line-X is reportedly thicker and comes with a lifetime guarentee against fade and chipping - any dealer will actually recoat if it does. Have had it on all my 4 F150's and currently on my '23 F250 and it holds up well! Very tough coating and never any rust thru. Have placed rock, wood, bricks, appliances with sharp edges on it. In the offroad world, some have had entire body coated with same warranty protection. More pricey than OEM, but more durable and better warranty from Line-X.

In my case in Canada, Line-X was $750 or $49 cheaper than OEM and $365 more expensive than the OEM drop-in liner, but is tougher and covers areas that the OEM coating does not.
