We currently have three Mavericks in the family: my son's XLT Hybrid, my wife's XL Hybrid, and my XLT EB AWD. The first Maverick I owned was an XL Hybrid. I sold it shortly after buying it to get the EB AWD.

I sacrificed the Hybrid's better gas mileage for the standard 8-speed transmission (because I didn't like the CVT) and improved ride quality from the independent rear suspension.

My wife, my daughter (since she is borrowing my wife's hybrid), and my son prefer their hybrids.

I think you should buy what makes the most sense for you.

I probably wouldn't buy a hybrid AWD if Ford came out with them since my primary complaint with the hybrid is the CVT. Plus, I have made so many improvements to my Maverick that I doubt I could sell it anywhere near what I think it should sell for.
You know the "CVT" in the Maverick hybrid is really an "eCVT" or electric motor that splits/pairs engine power to the HV battery or pairs it with another electric motor (MG2) to power the hybrid?

You right on no regrets and MPG, I am pulling 40 to 52 MPG. 400 mile long interstate round trip (220 each way) at 40 MPH. Unbelievable!

Yes, I am aware of the configuration. We also own a 2022 PHEV Escape.

In short, I prefer the EB's traditional automatic.

The OP asked if any hybrid owners regret not getting the EB with the standard automatic and the independent rear suspension. Thus, I was saying that 1) I am glad I gave up my 2022 hybrid Maverick for an EB AWD, and 2) I reach for my EB AWD Maverick's keys over my wife's hybrid Maverick's keys (or her PHEV Escape).

Nope. My hybrid XLT just passed 20,000 miles after facing everything ND could throw at it: snow, ice, slippery mud, and gumbo (clay that, when wet, likes to wrap itself around the tires until the wheel wells fill) and pulled itself through it all. (Something my F-150 4X4 couldn't always do.). All while doubling my mpg. Love this truck!

Just wondering if any of you hybrid owners wish you had opted for AWD with the Ecoboost ? Imagine this may be influenced on weather severity in your area. Heard mixed reviews from the owners in my area in Michigan.
Thanks
Not me. I love my Hybrid.

Hard to regret choosing the AWD when I get 50+ mpg on my way to work each morning.

From Michigan. Only 1,000 miles in, but absolutely no regrets, overall 42.2mpg. I try to run without a/c.
These days A/C has no real effect on mpgs...at most maybe 1mpg or so but hey your in Michigan so I don't think you need too much A/C anyway lol...however you should turn it on once a week or so for a drive to keep it properly lubed up so it doesn't start leaking....anyway glad you're loving you truck and hope you have many many more miles in it...Be Blessed

I regretted not getting 2 hybrids. Instead I got an EB and a hybrid. Kept the hybrid because of the fuel economy and I got paid more selling my EB. This is my first Ford and probably my last given everything that's been going on. So far I only got a couple of deep sleep messages and got the regen brake recall done.

No regret on the hybrid. The tires I do not like and will replace them with something better when needed but I never had a need four wheel drive and still don't. I do regret not getting the Lariat but love having a little truck that sips gas.

Nope. I wanted I hybrid truck. I've been addicted to 45-50mpg for the last 8 years. When I found out the Maverick was going to average 43 in the city it was a no brainer for me. I understand and respect the Ecoboost crowd because it still gets better mileage than the average truck out there.
Agree with @CurtisB. AWD adds a lot of complexity, reduces fuel economy and the Maverick even with AWD will never be a Jeep Wrangler. I am all in on great fuel economy and the hybrid regularly beats the EPA estimates. Most all the recalls are software, so nothing to get spun up about at all. It just shows that Ford has really increased the use of software / firmware over the last 5 years that they can do most recalls with a flash. Now if they would only go to OTA updates like Tesla so we could apply the updates ourselves as an option.
