I only have 223 miles on mine so far and I notice the buzzy engine noise at low speed. It is a little annoying. I wonder if Ford had put some noise dampening under the hood if that would helped with that. The engine is super responsive though. I’m getting around 26 mpg so far not bad for my first tank of dealer gas. I’m eager to get a spray in bed liner and a tonneau cover added to mine. Mine is a fwd xlt 360 copilot, carbonized grey, moonroof and sliding rear window. I like the 360 copilot features so far. I also don’t mind the interior or the touch screen radio so far. It’s not super high end but you get what you pay for.

Appreciate the review! Visibility has been a concern of mine coming from a ‘14 Forester. Curious what vehicle you’re coming form?

Also, with much respect, I find it kind of ironic that you went with limo tint on the fronts and a 50% windshield (per your other thread) and now you’re complaining about visibility and blind spots. Do you think that’s making things worse? (serious question)
I’m coming from a 2012 Edge. Visibility isn’t great on that either, but the Maverick is more noticeable to me.
Valid question. The tint isn’t the issue, it’s more the physical obstacles (the 2 support pillars and the back headrest blocking nearly the whole back window.

I have the Lariat with the acoustic windshield. I find it very quiet.

Does yours have the hood shake over bumpy roads?
The interior seems really quiet. Hardly any road noise. Just the engine buzz. Maybe the Lariat comes with a better firewall? No, I have not seen any hood shake. If it does, it’s slight and not noticeable.

One of the reasons we moved up to the Lariat- That windshield does make a difference.

Seems like the magic windshield does quiet down the engine buzz a bit- Both vehicles with and without the Acoustic unit seem decently quiet @ 80 mpg

"Another thing I noticed (and this could be because I haven’t fully read the manual yet) is that, when the phone is plugged into the USB for CarPlay, the radio can still play, but you cannot see the main home screen to see the station number unless you unplug the phone from the USB."

Answer:. There is a Ford emblem in Android auto that lets you cycle back to the radio/Sirius satellite screen

About the engine noise. Is this a hybrid? Disappointed in visibility. Was hoping this one would buck the trend.
How can it be a hybrid since they haven't sold any yet?

The headrest in the backseat covers nearly the whole window, so there’s just a tiny little space of the back window to use. That’s why the blind spot monitors have been so helpful.
@Brice
I have gotten into the habit of removing the rear headrests. It makes visibility so much better. If you don't have backseat riders it's good, if you do, maybe they won't notice.

That does appear so! I guess it didn't bug me much then! I do wish it was auto-dimming with homelink. That is something I'm hopeful to swap out.
Definitely post about your swap out if you do it. Homelink with an auto-dimming mirror is something I'll miss with my current car. Hopefully it's an easy swap.
First I can't imagine needing Auto-Dimming with such dark tint on the rear window. But that is what the little lever is for under the mirror.

As for the HomeLink, have you seen this?

I'm planning on installing this on the dash somewhere. It's battery operated so it should be easy.

Well there is definitely power up there. It would be an easy swap if it came on the Lariat - which I am totally ignorant to if it does - because if it came on the Lariat there would definitely be a plug and play element to it.

That said - just have to tap into what is there to power the mirror and it should be a fairly easy swap. The auto-dimming is huge. I can live without the Homelink but I'd really like it. I guess only thing that might be tricky is if the power source only runs in ACC or ON but my wife's Odyssey's (factory) homelink does not work when the car is off.

One of those guys and a new mirror and you're golden.

No model has Auto-Dimming or HomeLink. There are a few threads with a lot of us bitching about it. That was how I just posted the link to the battery operated HomeLink switch.

Where can I get one that gets 80 mpg?

If you are in an accident, they will definitely notice. Please, leave them in when you have passengers!
