Best Dash Cam for my Maverick

Am looking to add a dash a cam to my 22 XLT FX4, something simple to start with because am OLD, I know you guys know all about this stuff. Was looking at the Viofo a119 mini-2 but very open to suggestions. The video's and reviews are endless and very confusing, I don't trust all the reviews on Amazon, these guys get fee equipment to say nice things. I was a line technician back in the 80s when cars had carburetor's then turn management in the 90s [ retired now ] so I still have some skills to install. Any suggestions

I have a Viofo 129 duo (comes with rear camera). Have had it since 2015 if I remember. Bought the exact (somewhat updated) one for the Maverick. Easy install if you get their cable system and overall not too bad a price. The rear camera is an easy install also, only one cable that supplies camera feed and power. Ran that along the plastic where it meets the roof liner. Use a plastic tool to just pry up slightly enough to poke wire up in there and mounted camera on driver side near the top of window.

OP, what coverage and capabilities do you need?

I have a Garmin mini2 in my son's suv but it is forward only and does not have a gps so there is no speed overlay. If you want front and rear with gps speed, that's a very different solution (and price point).

Check into getting a rear-view mirror dashcam. It replaces the factory mirror and records front and rear. I like the wider field of view from the rear camera as it eliminates all your blind spots.

I would check out the fitcamX simple to install, especially if you have rain sensing wipers. It’s a simple plug and play and it looks to be factory installed when you’re all done.

I bought the ARIFAYZ Q4 dual dashcam (front & rear) after seeing the video quality. Bought it from Amazon and it’s 30% off right now (~$66). If you register it, they’ll send you the hardwire kit for free, but it does come with a 12v plug though.

Do you have a link or brand and model for that mirror? It looks good.

I would check out the fitcamX simple to install, especially if you have rain sensing wipers. It’s a simple plug and play and it looks to be factory installed when you’re all done.

I looked into this camera. Here’s the issue. As far as I know No maverick trim has rain sensing wipers. At least my 2024 lariat doesn’t.
