Nothing like the West coast mountains, but I made it through 4-5 good snowstorms this year with just snow tires and FWD. Never needed the chains. AWD would be even better, but I bet the trade would cost me 10k. Even as a skier, I may have to grin and bare it for a while with just snow tires.

On this day, I passed 100's of cars slid off the highway in heavy rain and snow. Also passed many 100's on the road too. The Mav did well but certainly wasn't like AWD. The tracking is bad at 50-60 mph and requires constant corrections.

Tires are more important than AWD but here in the suburbs of Philly these days we only get a couple of snow events a year so in a non sports car like the Maverick I can see sacrificing the ideal of 2 sets of rims and tires ( summer and winter) and just get more winter biased seasons. The savings would help offset the cost of AWD.

Is that possibly the new front end?

This is what I thought it would be, but sadly seems it is not. The Ford badge is not lined up to allow for those double bars. The top bar would be covering the headlight; can see yellow light bulbs in one of the close up pics.

This is an extremely amusing thread! You guys are freaking out over a $2 HYBRID badge that they put on this truck. You can Literally see the intercooler through the grill! These techs have a sense of humor and I'm here for it! Lol

It is a premium on the Escape - only offering the Hybrid AWD drivetrain on ST-Line and above.
Yep, I would expect it to only be available on XLT and Lariat for Mavericks. The only test mule we've seen so far was a Lariat so who knows it could be a Lariat only feature for that matter.

It's not an intercooler; the radiator extends to the lower grille opening on 2WD hybrids as well.

The 4K was the only reason I didn't pick a Hybrid. If they add 4K as a hybrid option, there is little reason to even offer a straight Ecoboost.
Would the eCVT handle a 4K AWD package or would they have a different tranny?

I misspoke a little - it is actually on the ST-Line Select model and above - so think XLT+Lux Pkg - which would put the Mav at $32,000 plus $1,500 for the AWD and a nominal price increase because, Ford, and you're in the $34-35k range for the AWD Hybrid Maverick.

When you look at a 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid that is going to check in right under $30,000 - Ford's pricing here is in line.

What transmission do they use on the AWD Hybrids?
For the Escape I believe it is the same eCVT the Maverick currently has however we saw the hitch in the spy photos that has the 4pin/7pin harness so they very well may be getting ready to drop 4K tow on the AWD hybrid.

Yea, I saw the same thing, just wondering about the Tranny?

Has anyone tried to analyze the lower shots to see if the rear diff (or whatever you want to call it) is new or that of the AWD Eco ?

Admittedly I'm not a Ford expert but if it is based on the escape and there is a AWD escape hybrid wouldnt they use the same transmission but I guess they couldn't with the tow package?
