My wife’s Escape PHEV qualified for a $5000 Federal and will soon get a $4000 Provincial rebate, after discounts it’s actually less expensive than the Hybrid Escape. Plus Ford recently lowered the PHEV pricing around $4000 in Canada.
Goes to show effective use of tax dollars lol

What a waste. Good if you qualify I guess.

XL is popular with fleets. I wonder of AWD will make it down to that trim level....

Either way most likely a 1.5-2k option so an XLT at least will be around 33k with destination and XL right under 30.

Not a bad deal but let's be honest, 76% of those saying they need AWD, don't need it. The other 24% will maybe need it a handful of time and will rave about it here as if it's better than sliced bread.

This sounds so interesting. Maybe some day I'll get to visit Maui and learn more about this from your MIL.

Nothing like the West coast mountains, but I made it through 4-5 good snowstorms this year with just snow tires and FWD. Never needed the chains. AWD would be even better, but I bet the trade would cost me 10k. Even as a skier, I may have to grin and bare it for a while with just snow tires.

On this day, I passed 100's of cars slid off the highway in heavy rain and snow. Also passed many 100's on the road too. The Mav did well but certainly wasn't like AWD. The tracking is bad at 50-60 mph and requires constant corrections.

Anyone considering a trade in? Just a friendly PSA to not buy new year models... I mean, c'mon... we are on the Maverick forums ffs. That much should be common sense :ROFLMAO:

I have 5 almost 6 years left on my warranty. So hopefully the Mavericks just get better because there are some things that will keep me out of an AWD Hybrid. Cost, mainly, but some other little things as well.

Honestly I think that is just a bad tailgate swap. Someone is messing with people, there is no way they made the hybrid have 4k towing. Otherwise Escape would have more IMO.

I also agree about not buying first year models.

Of course it's not necessary but a majority of people could benefit from having AWD at some point or another, be it inclement weather, a little extra traction while towing or heavily loaded or just the improved stability over rough pavement.
I don't know why FWD people are so angry that AWD is an option, let those of us who want it on OUR vehicles pay the extra and have it on OUR vehicles.
If you want to drive a FWD and it suits your needs then bravo but don't be bitter about it being available.

And yes, it IS better than sliced bread.
Much better.

They grow a microbe brew that they dilute and either inject in the ground or or spray topically. The grow the brew in a bioreaction process in a type of mulch, then concentrate the juice out of it. From their tests and studies it rejuvinates depleted soil.

Nice job Ford, but I won't be jumping on the band wagon this time around. After going through many recalls since getting my 22' hybrid Lariat in Oct '22, I'm finally recall free. All of the open recalls have been repaired, thank God! I'm going to hang on to my Maverick as long as I can.

Hopefully people will shut up about an AWD hybrid now, super annoying. Most people don't even need it.
Agreed. FWD will get you anywhere in snow (even on the mountains) with proper tires.
4WD on an offroad truck is a completely different discussion.

So I haven't really driven the mav in the snow because my other vehicle options are AWD but I do seem to be on the edge of losing traction in dry conditions at times. Like pulling out of a side street I've briefly spun the tires a bit if there is a little sand. There is a turn I take on my way home from work where it's a yield with a right hand turn. The road camber is tilted a little to the outside of this turn and I can very easily chirp the tires if I accelerate even a little before getting fully straightened out. My normal mode of driving is too accelerate out of turns but at times that doesn't seem possible. It could at least partially be the stock tires though.

I kind of like the different grill looks, almost like they are trying to pull in the few and far cruz drivers with the fancier stylings...but that bumper does show where the FX4/Tremor tow hooks will be going compared to the other bumpers. The headlight/headlight redesign I am still iffy about, but like the different grill options
I get what you're saying, but I don't like the busy, "spider-eyes" look of the Santa Cruz. That just one of many reasons I didn't buy a S.C.

Wow, amazing how you seem to know what people need.
I don't need it but want it. I don't NEED a 75" TV either but..... Also for me at least the IRS is a plus in addition to the occasional need for better traction
