Testing spare tire removal

Would like to meet the person who designed that orange blue cone, holding the tire.
Would think that, that cone should have a soft hinge to allow it to open more easily!?

Didn't have a problem with mine coming off the cable when I switched to a full size spare. Maybe the blue ones ('23 XLT) are different from the orange ones.

Soft hinge would create a weak point for it to easily fail at and deliver your tire into someones front end, if it doesn't destroy anything on the way out.

I have a 2024 XLT Hybrid, paid the $115 extra for a "full size" spare~~~~~ came with an XL rim and an Atlas brand spare that isn't same size as the 4 Continentals. How did you get that rim? It doesn't look like an XL rim?

I had a second set of 18" wheels with Falken Wildpeak A/Ts for my Bronco Sport that I had the dealer put on before I took it home. Bought a fifth matching wheel on eBay for $100 and replaced the doughnut that my XLT came with.
