Disclosure - I'm not a fanboy. Don't even like my Maverick all that much, though I do respect it as a solid-if-two-doors-too-big appliance So I was curious what my favorite auto engineering guy thought about his new Maverick.

Hint - he loves his Maverick.

just saw this video earlier and thought it was interesting. Basically said he only bought a new vehicle (previously had an 8 year old cresstrek I think) was for his channel but seems to like it

With almost 4 million subscribers on his automotive based channel, he could own anything he wants. VERY HIGH PRAISE that he decided to own a Ford Maverick.

Only thing odd is that he wouldn't have sprung for the Hybrid, being a pragmatic Engineer and gushing over it in the video. Must need the 4x4 capability in his climate over fuel savings.

Funny that the "Continental recommended tire for this vehicle" is not the Continental Tire that they actually put on it at the factory.
Likely because the factory one is made to a price point, as in the most Ford is willing to pay for a tire to keep the price down. If you went into a tire shop and bought the tire with the same name as OEM, it wouldn't be the same as the OEM one either.

I stopped it after a few minutes. Too soon? Presenter seemed to me more driven by his social status/acclaim than engineering details. That said I love our truck.
He likely didn't cover it because it's a cheap truck with bottom of the barrel parts. He hinted that he was not at all impressed with the 8 speed transmission in the EB, and would have rather have an AWD Hybrid or a manual. He has plenty of videos where his engineering background is far more pronounced.

I like the Continentals on our maverick. Quiet, good in snow, handles well, and good wear so far at 19,000 miles.
The factory Continentals on my Maverick are terrible in 6"+ snow. Had to install chains to keep moving. Going for Blizzteks prior to next winter.

Yea never got into his channel. I feel it's about the same as Mark Robber.
Smart, but pretentious YTers.
