My 2024 Maverick hybrid came in and I ended up passing on it. I ordered the 24 just in case that I may have needed it.
Decided to keep my 2022.

The missing heated windshield deicer, no remote start included, the now shiny black side mirrors (I like the body color matching side mirrors), the missing driver door code lock pad, the drop in bed liner that I would have to disassemble and remove and have a SIBL ($550+) added, and the missing bed tie down rails that my 22 has, plus the additional $1500 for the hybrid engine option (now for the 2024’s), made it a NO Brainer to keep what I have. The 24’s sticker is over 30k plus $1595 delivery charge.

Here’s to hoping FORD can bring back the SIBL option in the LUX, remote start included, the heated windshield deicer, the body colored mirrors, the drivers door pad lock and the cargo management bed rail system in the 2025’s. Those are features that people want and are useful. Maybe some states some owners do not need a heated deicer but it’s still nice to have regardless.
Who is to say you won’t drive your Maverick from Florida to a snow state one day?
Or Cali where you can get into the snow capped mountains within hours of warm weather.
I would certainly want the deicer. It’s a great safety feature for visibility.

The drop in bed liner coming no matter what with the LUX package, is such a silly option imo.
In a rust belt /snow/ice state, a DIBL is not a good idea at all and I don’t like that if I removed the stock DIBL for a SIBL, what would you even do with that DIBL?
I don’t see anyone wanting to buying it.
I could be wrong but what a waste to have to throw it out basically or try to sell it.
Give us better options for 2025 like you did with the 2022’s Ford!!

the 2024’s as I see it, missing all the stuff the 2022’s had for several grand more? That’s a hard pass for me. However, under a different set of circumstances I could have still needed this truck and it would make a GREAT truck for someone.
I ordered it knowing what it came with. When it came in and I test drove it and compared it side by side with mine, I passed on the 2024 because of all of these mentioned above reasons.

The 2022s had the most options available and then they removed some each year (except for the XL). Wait to see how the 25s are. If the 25s have a lot of nice improvements I might trade my 22 in.

That’s EXACTLY where I’m at as well.
the 25’s are going to really have to WOW us 2022 Mav owners in upgrades, updates and options and hopefully PRICE!

I can understand your frustrations and more importantly your disappointment. I ordered a 24, 2.0 but wanted heated mirrors and remote start. Well I can use Ford app for remote start so the expensive for the lux package was still doable. What was the deciding factor not to purchase the package was the DIBL. I'm not going to pay for something that I not only despise but would have an additional cost to replace. Sad that they don't offer an upgrade. So I decided to use the cost of the lux package for either a carport or add additional cash for a garage which would improve the home's resale and needing heated mirrors a mute point.

I remember seeing what a DIBL does to a truck bed, in less than a year on a demo. Paint rubbed off in many areas and some of those areas starting to rust. Adding insult to injury trying to keep items from sliding is similar to having ice. Then if you value your life if it's wet, snow covered or frosted your taking your life in your own hands, or your life's at risk. I sure wasn't going to live with all the cons of a DIBL.

Sorry to read that you had to pass on something you have not only been waiting for but looking forward to owning. I definitely sympathize and understand your final decision.

I price checked a 24 XLT with the options I added on my 22 XLT. $6,000 price increase with the hybrid and noted several standard additions from 22 now require LUX package for another $2200. Ford Pass has a feature that will estimate your vehicle’s value for a trade (on another Ford). Mine valued at $2,000 less than I paid for it with 31K miles on it.
I‘ll drive it till the wheels fall off or it catches fire, still waiting on that recall fix.

Yeah I agree. The 22 and 23 owners have features on ours Mavs that are no longer even an option and for less $$ VS the 2024’s

With the de-contenting and price increases combined with the 2025s on the horizon - I would not purchase a 2024.
That is solid advice. I share the same thoughts on it. Wait until the 2025 comes out is the no brainer. Unless you need a vehicle now.

When I picked up my 2023 in October, I was glad it had all those options only missing the modem which I got a $20 credit for and is an easy workaround. Like you if I lost those options and was looking at more money out the door, I would just wait. Well played. I am absolutely loving my 2023 though no issues at all now. Fingers crossed.

I don't blame you. I bought a 22. Have all the options that were deleted. Each one is small but together they all add up. Like how much did Ford save by eliminating the keypad. Plus that is like a Ford thing that differentiated it from other brands.

I wish I could have gotten lucky and rolled over to the 2025. Wonder if rollovers will get price protection on a refresh?

According to Ford Customer Care, there will be no rollovers or price protection going into 2025. One of the main reasons I reordered my truck that was effected fuel tank recall, besides the even longer waiting time, is that they would not confirm they would even extend the private offer on the truck, that I ordered four hours after the order banks opened in 2022, past the end on the model year in September that they can't sell to anyone until the fix the reacall that they aren't going to bother getting around to until Thanksgiving or so. At least the regional manage has promised, in writing, that he can transfer my private offer and price protection over to the new VIN for the replacement order.

This'll sound way snarkier than intended, but didn't you know all this when the order was placed?
If it was a rollover order like mine, all of those features were removed over a year after the order was placed. Not that you shouldn't have know that when it rolled over, but I can see waiting it out to see whether or not you really wanted it when it did arrive.

I just wish I had the option of keeping a truck with those features, rather than having to settle with whatever Ford decides it's going to offer at the moment. With the private offer, at least I'm only paying the same for less, rather than substantially more.

662 days and counting....
