Have a gray 2022 XL hybrid with over 50k miles and wanted to get a second XL hybrid to share with my wife and ultimately kids' truck. Placed an order 7/18/2023 with a large out of state dealer but was not very happy with the Ford price increase, reduced options and colors for the XL....so I kept looked for a 2023. Found several but was not able to deal before they were gone or colors / options a no. Found a 2023 XL hybrid in Area 51 at a small town dealer in state. Options not ideal with no hitch or 360 but the dealer had no mark up. Was able to purchase today for less the $26K OTD. Dealer still has two new 2023 hybrid Lariats. What do you think?

That’s amazing! Dealerships in Florida are marking hybrids up like crazy, sometimes up to 6,000 over sticker. 30 thousand plus for an XL hybrid. I’m so jealous!

Here in SoCal hybrids are marked up $8-10k. You got the best value proposition. Since you have another Mav with a hitch, why go through the bother and expense of adding one? You saved a lot on gas in the 50k miles, My hybrid is a different bird from my EB [pictured] but after a couple weeks and 670 miles I am getting used to the sounds.

Have generally been $3K to $5K over MSRP in the Raleigh / Durham area if a hybrid. I did have to pay a $500 doc fee with protest but typical here. I did not even know the 2023 XL gave me cruise control; I knew the 2024 did. That was a nice feature. I would have preferred to still have the digital temp readout on the dial for climate control system. Yes, overall pleased.

I think you did good. Why pay extra for 2024 when 2023 will be just as good? You can always add accessories.
I can understand not wanting to wait; but we do not know if "a 23 will be just as good", time will tell.

No hitch or CP360 would have been a deal killer for me.
No CP360 was a hard pill to swallow, however, less the 50% of retail orders have this. The OEM Ford hitch will bolt on for about $280 (no pig tail), yes not the $100 deal from the factory BUT can be solved when / if needed for a some applications like a bike rack. No rubber mats but getting those at dealer cost.

I originally had a 24 XLT on order (still so I guess) w FX4 and 360. Saw an xl on the dealer lot near me and saw it had 360 and 4k tow and was 4k+ less than my 24, so I went for it. I love it and the savings but plan on swapping out the wheels and instrument cluster at some point.

A hitch on a hybrid is kind of useless. Put some convex mirrors on the side mirrors and it works almost as well as blind spot monitoring. I had an XLT with those mirrors and I was surprised how well it worked. Good find!

why is a hitch on a maverick useless? not everyone needs to tow over 2000lbs let alone 4000. it is for sure useless to those towing more than that but its very subjective

In my case I would only use the hitch for a bike rack for the kids and I still have the other 2022 XL hybrid with the full hitch setup. The old '87 Ranger could also have a hitch / ball added... no tube receiver setup on it and not even sure it could tow much with a carb 2.0L setup.
