It's tough when the insurance companies are out to get you like that. I just wear my tin hat.
Enjoy the gas lighting. You work for an insurance company. You're just a crook. Again, they're not out to get me and to say that the police should not just be able to come into any house they want randomly doesn't make you an anti-government conspiracy theorist with a tinfoil hat. You're like a typical stupid American these days. It's either all one way or the other. Clearly you've chosen the one that lines your pocketbook more. I would argue that I've been driving 37 years without ever having a single accident that is my fault and I drive 8 hours a day at work so you know that's a pretty good record. But according to you my insurance should go up because I occasionally go a little over the limit.....

This thread only caught my eye because of the 60 Minutes report Sunday night about the Havana Syndrome. An alleged Russian spy, Vitalii Kovalev, was apprehended in Florida after a high speed chase near Key West. They discovered that he had device that erased the car’s data, including GPS records.

I’m not worried about it as I’m not breaking any laws in my Maverick

Ford could make some money by adding an option that disables all tracking.

Great discussion until the fistfight began. Please take these things outside, guys.

Especially if your initials are DJT
I'm sure he would wear the tin foil hat while driving a Maverick.
That's mainly how the insurance company I work for gets you.

Motormouth addressed this in today's video. BTW, do not falsely conflate this with BEVs. It has nothing to do with a car being electric, which is just a propulsion system. It's about a car having a lot of connected tech, which is independent of the propulsion technology.

I don't get why so many don't care that they could wind up paying more for insurance and such. This is not about selling you crap and tracking your store visits.

This is detrimental profiling. Not all people who floor their accelerator are bad drivers. If you have to drive on shitty dangerous roads with short on ramps and such you now get to pay the increased risk associated with someone elses bad engineering. This type of data collection isn't going to take into account that you brake or accelerate for good reason. It's horse shit quite frankly, and there should be a way to opt out.

So yeah, we should all deregister and pull the fuses just to get them to recognize this shit isn't ok. To date most other forms of tracking are for advertising, fine if I get something and I know the impact is some shitty adds. However, this is a preview of more oppressive đź’© coming.

Exactly, whether or not Amazon knows I prefer boxer briefs is not a big deal compared to this
