the easiest is to use the red jump post under the hood and find any unpainted bolt for the negative. don't directly connect it to the battery.

There is a “dedicated” bolt at the extreme right of the engine compartment closer to the firewall at the inside edge of the fender.

Not to put down the idea of trying to address the battery issues by hooking up a battery tender, but as a long term solution, it seems like just replacing the cheapo battery Ford installed with the battery the truck was actually designed around would be a lot less effort in the long run.

Thank you Archivist!. I had seen posts about the difference between the stock battery and AGM. Within a month of owning my Maverick, I started getting the "sleep" mode notifications. At that time, most in here were replacing the stock "golf cart" batteries with a higher grade flood battery and it seemed to work. I was one of those. Since then, I have been told that the AGM battery is the solution. I will be upgrading to an AGM battery at the end of the year. So far, I have a Diehard Gold T4 470 CCA 585CA battery and it has done me well. I did reset the BMS. But I know by the time summer rolls around that I will be charging my battery on a trickle charger once every 6 weeks to keep the "sleep" messages from happening.

I'm familiar with the Die Hard brand battery replacement for the hybrids, but what's the AGM equivalent? Anybody got a brand and part number?

May I suggest that you just buy the battery. If you try the "select my vehicle" option, the Maverick doesn't show up as one of the vehicles it will fit. But it does, thanks to a lot folks in here who have installed it.

It's crossed out, so your eyes are fine. This is what others have done. Measure the dimensions of your battery. Take note of where your vent holes are. Find an AGM battery (any brand) of the same dimensions and vent holes and your a winner.

Makes sense. And remember to reset the BMS, of course upon installation of the new battery. Thank you!

Sorry for the crappy pic. It's an h4 .... about a half inch taller than the OEM spec other dimensions are fine. The height is probably why it does not show up as a fitment for the Mav as already noted but, it fits fine. Many MTC folks have installed this without issue. I plan to do the same just as soon as my OEM piece of sh?t completely dies on me. Right now, I have to put it on my Noco Genius5 to get my dome/courtesy lights to work for a day!!!

QUESTION re: trickle charge a 2024 hybrid: I've looked in the owners manual, I've looked under the hood and I cannot find a red terminal cover under the hood or anything that looks like a post to attach the + terminal to a trickle charger. Could you guide me to it, it is probably hidden in plain sight but I give up.
