Quick update to everyone, finished the prototype today. I have someone who is going to test it for me and then give me any feedback. Here is a picture of it.

The final design will be in black ASA, a material very similar to ABS, which is used in car plastics already, with just a bit more desirable properties for printing. If I can find a box the right size it will come preassembled. Everyone interested would you like it to include the L brackets and stainless hardware required or source that yourselves?
Any new updates here? I've been watching and waiting for any availability as I'm also interested. I can procure my own hardware if that's the problem.

Update to all that are interested-

The first iteration fit well but one of the mounting holes doesn't quite line up. Waiting for an updated template to get to me and fixed then I will begin printing a bunch. I have all the hardware needed for the installation, I plan to provide the option to self-source as well. Quick question for anyone, is a mirrored version needed for the other side too? If so does it have the same mounting holes? Thank you in advance. Stay tuned for more updates.

There's no cavity on the other side...not sure why, but I didn't design the trucklet.
I'd be interested in a parts list for the hardware, though I might decide to buy the panel with mounting hardware (depending on the cost).

The only concern I would have is flammability. You don't want to use any material in that area that is affected adversely by heat, solvents, or that will propagate a fire as it is near the gas filler neck and gas tank. Someone else suggested Kydex plastic panels, which is a material used in aircraft and in auto manufacturing. If I used plastic, I would probably use Kydex.

Yep, I'll check it after a long highway drive. It seems far enough away...

$3 black coroplast from Michaels + 4 zip ties = good enough for me

I'd reconsider the zip ties, as they get brittle out in the elements and will break. Small hose clamps may be an alternative...

I'll keep an eye on it. It likely won't fall out even, as it is semi-wedged in place.

Waiting for my xlt 2024...end of April?
getting a lot of info from the site in the meantime

Was wondering if anyone has just removed the right side rear floor pan splash sheild , flipped it over and tried to see if it could be modified to fill the hole on the left side ? in the least perhaps it could be used as a template for the left side as it looks to follow the same contours. I realize it would be slightly smaller as the body tapers in the futher up the cavity it goes. It the spare wheel sheild is in the way could just trim off i would imagine.

Part is around 70 bucks from ford. Would think it wouldn't melt. Would need a front piece to attach to wheel well and or mud flap void as present on the right side. Hmm

Good question, I've been tinkering with this concept, looking to put something together that's closer to OP's solution, but with a printable template. I understand that several members want a kit they can buy, and those designing them have time invested. I'd like to just get a printable template posted for the rest of us. I'll check on this part from the other side today/tomorrow, see what I can come up with on mirroring it.
