You can start it with the Ford pass or if you're already in the truck just mashed accelerator to the floorboard and let off and it will automatically start up.

Use remote start in the app, but make sure you have it set to what you want before you shut it off for the night. I believe it will use the last settings you had before you turn the truck off.

You can either have it use the last set or pick a temp automatically. Depending on the temp it will heat or cool and if it is cold enough it will activate the seat heaters and heated steering wheel.

Our 2024 Lariat doesn’t seem to do that. I have pulled in the garage with the heated seat and steer wheel off. The next day remote start it with the app and the seat is full on, every time. Haven’t figured out why that happens.

If you have an XLT, you should be able to start it with your key fob also. You'll need to hit lock button once, then the "2X" button twice.

My XLT is the opposite. I'll have the seat and steering wheel on when shutting it off, and they're off when I start with the Ford Pass app.

Check the remote start settings in the gauge cluster. There is a setting to either have it auto set the cabin conditions or leave them where you had them when you turn it off.

Is there a way to start the XLT hybrid gas engine to warm the cab?
If you want to warm the cab while parked, turn on the Hybrid and put the HVAC controls on max fan & HI heat. The Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) will start up shortly and run as needed to warm it up. To force-start the ICE, turn on the truck and tap the go pedal. If you don't have the heater on, the ICE may not run very long.

If you get in the cold Hybrid drive away immediately, temporarily switch the drive mode to Sport, to force the ICE to run and heat the cab faster.

I'm thinking this is the XLT with the Luxury Package; my fobs do not have a "2X" button.

You mean Lariat, not XLT. XLT doesn't have remote start from the fob as an option (at least not for 2022/2023).

Try using sport mode on cold days. it will stay running, and use a bit more engine braking, and RPM while driving which will help it warm up quicker. Switch off after the first 2 miles to get some mpg.
