I didn't bother reading through this whole thread as it started as crazy talk. 5600. Unless you have drunk driving charges and felony arrests while driving there is no way it 5600 a year. Unless he meant 560?

My insurance went down from a 2020 Ford Ecosport by about 120 every six months so 240 a year less. XLT hybrid.

I'm in Southeast Pennsylvania (near Valley Forge Park and about 25 miles from Philly). I pay $1,700 a year combined for my 2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid AND my 2006 Mustang GT. That is on a "pleasure" policy meaning limited driving per year (8,500 miles) but both are full coverage, full tort. If I had more room in my garage to put the Mustang in (my wife's 2 cars are in there as they are worth A HECK OF A LOT MORE than my Mustang) I would be able to use American Collectors for it and it would literally cost a few hundred for it.

And when my truck was on its way up from Mexico, I called for a quote, and it was only $17 a year more than my (at the time) 2019 Fusion Energi Titanium. I was shocked it was so cheap to insure as was my agent. And my company is not a major one you see on TV. A more local company.

Just received my new year's policy, they listed my 23 Mav at 1300 for the year. Somehow my 15 Forester is 1900 for the year. I will never be able to make it make sense.lol

My policy is renewing next month at $849 for the year for my 23 Hybrid Lariat. Up from $833 for last year. Probably just inflation/greedflation. It's actually a decent chunk less than the premium for my wife's CR-V which is 5 years older and costs $951 for the year.

Yikes!
Here in horrible Southern California it added under a grand to my total insurance bill, with two cars (one comprehensive , one just liability) + the Maverick and three drivers (one under 25). Total slightly over $2k/yr for all three.
That's pretty good. I pay almost 2 for the Maverick (just the Mav) in Los Angeles and I have zero accidents/tickets, two car family 2 drivers, even with home insurance bundle.

I'm in Iowa, my present insurer is leaving our state and have hunted for new insurance. I have two vehicles of particular interest, a 1985 Kawasaki eliminator with 12,000 miles, a 2005 Porsche Boxster S with 38k miles and my new 2023 Maverick XLT AWD-4KT with 5k miles and all can be insured for $1,351/yr by Hagerty Ins at $1514/yr by Progressive Ins. I am waiting for my agent to see if they can beat those. (Full coverage with 500k liability, 500/ded)

Randy, any idea why your insurer would be pulling out of Iowa? I've heard of insurers pulling out of Florida and maybe a few other areas, and I can imagine high claims due to hurricanes etc., but Iowa?

That one surprises me. 🤔

The "derechos" have been the constant refrain by Insurance agents but as a retired Insurance investigator with 40 years of experience, in 40 fkg years I had never heard that word. They are straight line winds (I have heard that) not cyclical winds (read- tornadoes, hurricanes). Pekin Ins. was a client of mine, not Peking China, pekin, Illinois and we had one derecho in Iowa a few years ago, and Illinois had one a year ago, but Florida has a Hurricane every time someone says TGIF. Sheesh!

In NY ...one driver $800 year with higher than minimums and full collision...went up from $700 year before..Other two cars are Grundy insured so I can't get a multicar discount with Hartford AARP...
I was paying $1300 for three cars before but sold all of them for the Maverick. Grundy is 1.9k year for 2 cars worth 4 times the Maverick..Maverick insurance out of wack.
I have AARP Hartford the escape and Mustang was 1800. A year 1000.00 ded with drivers course still have escape and traded in mustang for maverick went up to 2400.00 no tickets or wrecks in Florida
