"Finally" got the dreaded deep sleep notification on my 3 month old truck.

2600miles was parked for 2 days. That's nothing unusual.

Measured voltage about an hour after a 40mile drive and the 12v measured at 12.14 under the hood which is rather low but it was right after opening / closing door to access the hood lever. Maybe would read higher few minutes after all systems "shut down"

Does anyone know what that 12.14 might translate to at the actual battery ?

12.14 is not all that great. It should be in the vicinity of 12.6 v. Try measuring directly from the battery under the rear seat.

So you have the base and having deep sleep? Running the heater a lot? Any other accessories?

Voltage is only one measurement of battery state.

Battery Charge is more important.

To measure the actual battery state you need a device like the ANCEL BST100 Battery Load Tester.

ANCEL BST100 Car Battery Tester 12V, 100-2000 CCA Load Tester Digital Automotive Alternator Battery Analyzer

When I got my first "Deep Sleep" message on my previously owned Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid these were the results shown using the ANCEL BST100:

Deep Sleep First Measurement shows Battery Voltage of 12.09 Volts but the important number is the 29% Battery Charge.

Ford Maverick First deep sleep - voltage question Tested - Deep Sleep Messag

After having the Maverick "Turned On" I.E. Readyed to drive for 30 minutes to have the 12 Volt Battery charged by the Hybrid HV Battery this is now the result:

Ford Maverick First deep sleep - voltage question Tested - After 30 minutes of ON tim

Note that the "Battery Charge" went up to 75%.

And the "Battery State" went from "Good Recharge" to "Good Battery"

Curious is this a hybrid only problem? Our ecoboost sits for a week sometimes and this hasn't happened.my 2010 ram sits for a months sometimes and always starts.

XLT no options. No accessories.
I mean I am using the vehicle as it is intended. Not going to wrap myself in a blanket driving it...so yes I am using the heater.

Recently remeasured after a longer drive with engine "on" at the posts inside the bay ~15V. Minute after turning off 12.5V. Hour later (doors locked), hood open. 12.6.
Im going to measure again in 3-4 hours and report. Maybe, just maybe in needed a couple days of longer drives.

Measurement about an hour after truck off was about 12.64 (typo above) and now roughly 9.5hours later it's at 12.58 equating to 0.15v per day. In 3 days should be back to deep sleep assuming temperature doesn't drop (which it will).

I'll keep and eye on it. Did call dealer and service advisor said "never even heard of deep sleep on a Maverick" so that's assuring of the service I would (likely eventually will) get.

Here we are with literally brand new Ford's trying to solve a problem we know they are aware of and the fix has to be some serious $$$. I'm sure financially it makes sense to pay warranty during 3/36 than to issue a recall.

Mach-e, f150lightnings, escape hybrids...even non hev have same issues (just less) . You'd think by now this would be a non issue.

After going though this with my 2022 Hybrid and finally resolving it, I would suggest putting the truck on a quality battery charger overnight (on pins under the hood). Check with voltage afterwards with a quality DVM and record and monitor as a start.

And to answer your original question, 12.13V under the hood should translate very close at the battery. A ~ .10-.15+ voltage difference at the battery might suggest a bad cable, but not many of those reported on the '23s.

good luck...

I'm not sure what you did? "12 Volt Battery charged by the Hybrid HV Battery" How did you do this? I wasn't aware that you could have the 12 Volt Battery charged by the Hybrid HV Battery.

That is the ONLY way the 12V battery is charged in the hybrid.

You get that by turning truck On, Ready mode.
You don't even have to drive to charge the 12V battery, contrary to prior advice in ICE-only vehicles to get on the highway for better charging.
Just sit in driveway.

But cheaper to just use an outlet powered charger, not ICE powered charger.

Good to know. Thanks!
I rotate my battery tender from my motocycle to my Maverick periodically. Whenever I connect it to the Maverick its in need of a charge and takes a while to fully charge.
I guess I have a plug in hybrid.
