I've had my 2023 Mav Hybrid for almost two months. About a couple weeks in I started getting FordPass notifications here and there saying the app was disabled due to the truck ging into "battery saver mode". It advised to simply drive the truck and the app would reset.

That worked...at first. The app started giving me more frequent notifications about battery saver mode. The last few days I'd gotten the "deep sleep" notification after each trip whether long or short so I immediately took it into my local dealer.

They discovered that it was simply a bad battery and was probably caused by the truck sitting for long periods of time between manufacture and delivery to the dealership.

Sooo, for those of you out there who may have had this issue and haven't read posts about it on this forum yet...let the dealer know to (a) test the 12v battery (b) the charging system and (c) the wiring harness to the 12v battery. From reading similar experiences on this site I knew to ask those questions and get these areas examined. To all those who have posted this sound advice before me...thanks very much!

Several people here have gone through multiple Ford branded batteries and still have the issue. For some it's the battery, others it was a bad connection from the inverter to the 12v battery, or some it's been bad fuses, for some it's 12v systems that won't shut down properly. Best as I can tell there is no one right answer for the issue that fits all cases.

I for one had the battery tested several times, it's fine. Still get deep sleep messages if I turn on Ford pass. 🤷‍♂️ I turned it off, since it wasn't any use anyway, have remote start on the fob.

Does that seem strange to anyone else, or just me? It's a 2023 in incredibly high demand. How long could it have possibly been sitting somewhere?

Clearly the battery was the problem, since replacing it resolved the issue; but could it really have been from just sitting somewhere for a couple of weeks or months? I'm thinking it was just a battery gone bad...no other explanation needed. :)

Well, am hoping the battery WAS my issue...so far so good since being replaced! The dealership did do a full system test. Thanks for the extra feedback though, much appreciated!

This has been a nagging issue for Hybrids since I joined this forum. One would think Ford would have this figured out by now and addressed the various issues that are causing this.

Ford vehicles are constantly connected to Ford servers even when the vehicle is off. If the vehicle isn't driven for a certain amount of time those modules are still activating and pinging Ford servers sending information. This constant connecting slowly drains the 12v battery and eventually putts the vehicle into a deep sleep state to conserve power.
Trouble with that theory is that it is hitting vehicles, like mine, that are daily driven, not just ones that sit. Ford needs to get their crap sorted out if it's happen across all vehicles they are making. Whether it's Ford's software or a suppliers issue, whoever it is they need to get on the ball. These are vehicles, not some children's toy.

I agree with you 100% that it's something that should not be happening. New batteries, new wiring harness', new wiring harness connectors, ect only seem to solve the problem short term.
I was just theorizing on why it might be happening because Fords "fixes" don't seem to be solving it either.
This would make sense, if only Ford was doing the pinging of vehicles for data. Thing is all manufactures are doing this. I don't see stuff like this on Toyota, Honda, and other brands forms I've visited a lot during the past few years before choosing the Maverick. There are always a few people with 12v battery issues, but this seems rather wide spread.

I mean you could be right and it's not a big issue. Maybe other companies just don't give indicators of low battery charge like Ford does so people don't know?

IDK that's why I just posted a potential theory. Perhaps other manufacturers aren't experiencing this is because they use more robust batteries, their onboard software is less aggressive, or they have better software, ect.

I didn't say what I posted was the end all be all on the issue I was just throwing out some ideas that in time might help the Maverick community to better understand the problem and potentially find a solution to it. 🤷‍♂️
Of course, that's all any of us can do. Just using a little deductive reasoning, not attacking!

They have replaced the battery & TCU on my 2022 Maverick Hybrid and I still get the deep sleep mode message. I have even took my truck up North on a 3 1/2 hour drive on the highway, parked my truck and within 3 1/2 hour I get the deep sleep mode message.

A Ford rep contacted me on this site about my issue, created a case and said the truck group will contact me.....They have not contacted me yet. I called my dealership yesterday, left a message with the service rep and he has not called me back yet. I will give him a call again tomorrow. So, my issue continues!

Mine sat for over a month between the time it was made and when It showed up at the dealer and I could take delivery. Plus, no telling how long the battery sat somewhere before it was used in manufacturing my truck.

Only Lariats with B&O sound system have that. Doesn't explain why it happens with XL and XLT trucks.
Yes, I know. My post was tongue-in-cheek regarding my situation.

I had added a subwoofer behind the rear seat of my XLT and had zero issues for ten months and 20,000 miles. When my harness issue reared it's ugly head, it got blamed on the "speaker behind the seat". It was removed, but once documented in their system, every Ford dealership misdiagnosed my issue as the nonexistent "speaker behind the seat". So, I was never able to get it resolved and moved on.

I don't remember who told me about this, but I bought this for all my vehicles....Antigravity Battery Tracker Bluetooth Monitor System BTR-2 for 12V Lead/Acid Vehicle Batteries (also available for LiPo). It hooks to the battery and keeps 30 days of data showing what's happening with the battery and tests startup every time. Smaller than I thought, just velcro to the battery and connect to the terminals. Maybe once a week or two I open the iPone app next to each car and check the graphs.

As the temperature dropped to 30's/50's in GA this week, tonight I'll spend 5 minutes checking all the cars. Anything odd, I'll connect the Optimate which tests and gives me a health check in about an hour. Could have been short trips or battery age, but either way I won't get a crazed call from either wife or either daughter from an hour away that the car won't start.... Maybe overkill preparation, but gives me piece of mind.

Amazon link below shipped from manufacturer at better price than their site which is odd.

I think these 12v batteries die by a million paper cuts, so to speak.

Replacing one will have immediate benefits. It will immediately solve issues. But for how long?

My truck is drawing 4 amps out of the truck 30 minutes after I've removed the key. It eventually turns off because the battery never goes to zero volts. Just 11.8 volts.

So it's kinda like leaving your headlamps on EVERY SINGLE DAY until the 30 min timer cuts it off.

This is unusual wear & tear on the battery, I think, contributing to short lifespan. But a guess. 🤷🏻‍♂️
