I updated my phone to iOS 17.1 this week, and the radio seems to be having more issues than before. It's always had instances where it wouldn't connect properly, or once in a great while it would freeze up; but now it seems to struggle even more with connecting to my iPhone.

Is anyone else having more issues since they updated to iOS 17.1? Are there any updates I can/need to apply to my radio?

Are you running the latest software version on your infotainment system? I see you have an XLT like I do so you are running a Sync 0 system. Basic and more basic. I see you have a MY22. You may be a few updates behind. Do a search here on site. A few threads on updating the software and some of the hassles associated with doing so.

I found it best to find a spot with full bars and using my phone as a wifi hot spot to download the update. Going to cost you around half a gig of data but for me, the update made a big difference.

I am running iOS 15.xx as I have a iPhone 7 (I'm cheapish) and the latest Ford software version and mine works perfectly. Loads within a few seconds.

I don't have iOS but my Pixel 4a phone connects in seconds.
OP needs to look in the infotainment system and check for updates for it.

My infotainment system is up to date on the latest release and my iphone quit connecting about a week ago (wired). I chalked it up to a shitty short wire that got tangled too many times and I've been too lazy to grab a different one and try it out.

iOS 17.1 should have nothing to do with your radio. Now if you are using CarPlay and playing an app like Spotify or other music streamer through the radio then it might effect it. if it is an app it may be the developer hasn't updated the app to work well with 17.1 yet. keep checking your app updates for those. but as far as the standard radio iOS 17.1 shouldn't effect it at all and you may need to update the infotainment system as others have said.

I have 7 also it had a few issues but I picked up this and have not had any issues at all and it’s been a couple months 👍

I have an iphone X and ios system 16.7.2. I just left Ford and they said I have to update to ios 17. That's why I get Media Not Available on the radio screen. This just a happened about 3 days ago. Are you still able to connect?

iPhone 15 pro, IOS 17.2, radio G2.2.0.1.

NO issues.

I've been using the Geohyecc Wireless CarPlay Adapter since January of this year. It rarely requires rebooting, unlike several of the adaptors I had tried prior to that. I paid $90 for it, and now it's on Amazon for 55% off - only $39.99!

I have to wait until the radio in the car is FULLY booted up and the connect the wire. It always connects if I do that. If I connect as the radio is booting up, it only connects about 20% of the time. Are you waiting until the radio is fully booted up? If not, try that.

17 breaks quite a few things, 17.2 set to release in December. Several things in 17.1.1 messed me up.

Ah ok not just me — need to check the Maverick software version, but as soon as I updated to ios 17.1.1 I started to get new weirdness

Three times in two days:
- yesterday phone connected fine, cued up Spotify through the sync screen, but sound played through iPhone speaker
- this morning phone connected fine, played Spotify fine, I receive a call, pick up with the button on the sync screen but can’t hear anything, had to grab the phone and put it on speaker. Was able to end the call through the sync screen
- tonight had a repeat of the Spotify error from yesterday, solution was to disconnect and reconnect the lightning usb cable

Thanks,
I've been playing games and trying to avoid buying a new phone. In desperation and just for giggles, I blew the dust out of the charge port on the phone, reconnected and like magic, it worked. KISS. Keep it simple stupid
