Has anyone else noticed the message in the Ford app has changed? - Instead of 'deep sleep' the random message may now state that the vehicle has gone into battery conservation mode, nothing is wrong, to turn remote features back on drive your vehicle, blah, blah, blah, rather than state Deep Sleep 90% of the time.

For what it's worth my random messages only began in late Aug or early Sept, after spending several hours around the vehicle, which may keep the electronics awake. - Washing & detailing both the Mav and my wife's Crosstrek in the driveway.

The 12v feeds shows 14.5v or higher when the ignition is on, so I'm inclined to believe its charging the battery, or trying to charge the battery. I strongly suspect that the issues are the Chinese made batteries being used. (Most of the OEM batteries appear to carry a made in China label). I really need to run a line out, connect up the automatic desulfator/charger and see what it indicates, along with the battery tester.

For maintaining or just lightly charging, are you disconnecting the battery, or while still connected in the vehicle? - And if the former, how many of the settings are lost. (My Subaru would loose radio pre-sets, PCM learning, TCM learning, and required a Throttle Position Re-Learn if the battery was disconnected).

Thanks
See post #50.

Funny how I've never had these issues at all.
I assume you were trying to make a joke, but many people don't realize you practically just got your Maverick. I hope you never get these or any issues though.

It may not be a battery problem. A bigger battery, I believe, would only delay the undesired result.
I think that it’s a charging problem. Perhaps easily fixed, but only at the cost of a few MPGs.
So if 4 hours of charging does not make the battery hold greater than 12.2 volts, what do you think the problem is?

The confounding thing is: it's not getting worse. Been at 12.2 for six months. And I've used three volt meters.

I've had my 2023 XLT hybrid since April 14th 2023. So far I have experienced 2 deep sleep events:

The first on was in the middle of August when I didn't drive it for a week because I had covid. It was completely dead. No real surprise there.

The second was about a month ago. I had drove home from work the night before and it was completely dead the next morning, less than 12 hours later. No idea why it happened.

I did the BMS reset procedure after I charged the battery back up by driving it. Hopefully it won't happen again.
My ‘23 XLT hybrid has had very similar symptoms to what you’re describing. It has died >5 times, but it always seems to be at random. I can’t find a pattern.

It has been to the dealership 5 times for this same issue with no fix yet.

What kind of mpg have you been getting?

I hesitate to reply. Picked up my 2023 Lariat Hybrid in July. Has been perfect so far. By typing this I may have cursed my self.

I picked up mine at the end of February. My first dead battery issues appeared at the end of May. SSM 51598 was performed and my battery was replaced with another OEM battery by the dealer. I had a few more dead batteries within a week or two of that service, then it suddenly stopped dying for a few months. The dead battery issues returned at the end of September and have persisted for the past month.

Just an FYI, no matter how long I drive my 2022 XLT Maverick hybrid (drove it on the highway for 3.5 hours straight) I will still get the error message on the app "Drive your vehicle to reconnect FordPass and exit battery saver mode" within an hour. The battery & TCU has been replaced. Just waiting to hear back from Ford...The good news is, it will still start. I will keep you posted once I hear back from Ford.

If I had a vehicle that did this it would be gone. Mine gets one reapair if same thing happens second time new vehicle.

Well, by that logic I'm an exception.

One year ownership today. One problem earlier in the week. All summer long, 50+mpg up and down SE Pa hills.

The single sleep/battery saver message may now have an identified cause. Seems my son has fessed up to taking the car out one night. He hates the auto-dimming lights and turns switch to manual -- and may have left them on. No trouble since.

so just an update:

After 2 weeks in the shop, the engineering department's final recommendation was to replace the battery again (2nd battery in 2 years). The instant deep sleep has disappeared for now so I really do think it's battery related (i did all the wiring harness/cable overlay recalls already). So I'm thinking, either just keep getting Ford to replace the battery as long as your car is under warranty (wasteful I know) or bite the bullet and get a better quality battery out of pocket.

Thanks for the update. Can you please elaborate a little more on your issues?

Have you been needing to jumpstart your maverick, or have you just been getting deep sleep messages?

Has your battery been passing the tests that the dealer does? I have had to jump start my maverick many times, but my dealer has been saying that my battery passes their tester.

So my truck used to go right into deep sleep/battery saver mode right after I turned off the car. It was almost instant. I've done every TSB/Recall related to the battery already and fortunately, I've never had a no-start situation, just the inconvenience of no cabin lights. Did you do all the recalls? The cable overlay recall is supposed to remedy the no-start situation esp if your battery seems to be fine. To have to jumpstart your truck that many times even with new batteries is absurd.

The 1st time I replaced the battery, it was because it had a bad cell. The second time, was because the engineering department's plethora of solutions didn't work (battery was fine btw) so they were like just replace the battery....and low and behold, things are fine.
