Add this to the list of things that makes it the, Maversuck.

The windshield design is awful and Ford used the cheapest, softest, triple-ply charmin glass imaginable...
And how much did you pay for your truck?

I think you're missing my sarcasm and ongoing sarcasm about the MTC members who find just about anything and everything to complain about with Maverick.

I love my Tremor.

That is what 0$ deductible comp is for, typically have to replace a windshield every year to two years up here. The make or model of vehicle does not matter. They use crushed shale for traction up here in winter, as sand would freeze in the bed of the snow plows.

Have had to replace my windshield 3.5 times in not even two years since owning, from rocks smashing into glass. One of the times required me to have the pillar repainted. The .5 time was having to stop a crack from spreading from a rock that worked, but the crack remained, until another rock hit the glass.

This last time really pissed me off, as saw the hit happen, and the crack spread across the glass, There was a medium size truck in front of me, but not for at least 45 yards.

The way i see it:
1 time bad luck
2 time bad luck/coincidence
3 times starting to think theres some design aerodynamic issues going on
3.5. Enough is enough.
Why are you driving in rocks?

37K mostly highway. No rocks or cracks or windshield replacement needed.

Sorry to hear your experience hasn't been good.

I heard that over-washing your vehicle can thin out the windshield and remove the protective coating that naturally builds up over time.

This is why I never wash mine 😁!

Lol, on a serious note. It could very well be coincidence. I think we're in a bit of an echo chamber here, so things that are kinda normal statistically, seem more prevalent. Hence some of the are "mavericks cursed" sentiment. Take our size group spread across the country, of any vehicle, and you'll likely see similar #s of accidents, broken windows, parking lot scratches, nature dings.

This is my only complaint. The windshield glass is s#@t !!! My '05 F-150 took vicious shots on the windshield, never even a chip in 7 years of ownership! Had to replace my Maverick windshield on day 5 of ownership from a rock hit . The new one (15 months now) has 3 , tiny dings in it 🤬 ! $500 deductible from insurance really doesn't cushion the blow at all , if this is going to be a consistent problem.

Everything's bigger in Texas.
Probably the rocks on the road too.

If you think the Maverick is bad you should see the Bronco, the windshield is a magnet for rocks.

Yes, I learned this lesson from my Miata-driving days. I NEVER stay behind a truck; I either go like hell and pass him, or back off and let someone else have the position of honor. I gotta admit, you are the 4th standard deviation on the bell-shaped curve. (The 4th standard deviations are the NEVER and ALWAYS folks. My ex-wife NEVER hit a red light and I ALWAYS hit the red light. Yep, the ol' bell-shaped curve.)

I am glad I got the warranty from dealer that covers windshields and dings it sound like! What has the average cost been to replace a Maverick windshield?
I don't know a cost as I have fortunately not had any issues. But my insurance carrier made me go from a 50.00 deductible to a 500.00 deductible for windshield when i bought my Mav. She said windshields will be between 3k and 5k to replace.

Do yourself a favor and keep a few permatex windshield repair kits under your backseat. I've repaired 3 chips with them and if you follow the directions the repair turns out nice. Never got a crack. You need to repair it asap.

Is the conclusion that the glass itself is just a bad brittle mixture (just a guess ) of bad and unlucky driving in a messy world. Glass experts..is there such a thing?

Overall Durability:
It’s true that you get what you pay for, and this concept applies to windshields as well. Low-quality windshields will crack, chip, or break more easily than high-quality ones. High-quality windshields are also more likely to last longer than low-quality ones.

Two weeks ago on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Not tail gating. Truck ahead threw one up and hit dead center. Safelight repaired with their "epoxy". Holding so far. Only 7100 miles.

Truck that was replaced by my Mav was a ā€˜92 base Toyota. Never a broken or chipped windshield in over 200k miles.
In my state, no deductible for replacement. Safety issue.
Can even be replaced if too fogged up with a zillion mini chips, as was mine in 2020. So I took a ballpeen hammer to it. WAILED ON IT! Wouldn’t break, crack, chip……..nothing. Figured I’d wait for a really cold night and give it another try.
Never got around to it.
Then came the Mav!
