Botched windshield replacement or bad glass? (Safelite)

Recently had a small star chip in my xlt lux windshield. Had Safelite come out to repair the star and they said it might not work but the money I spent could go towards a replacement. Next morning had a crack across the windshield. Called safelite and was quoted $1400 for new OEM glass, aftermarket glass isn’t available. I bit the bullet and scheduled for a week out. Left the truck at home for mobile service and upon my return after the install, I first see the wipers were misaligned - way too low, and both bottom corner trim pieces were partially popped out. After spending a half hour realigning the wipers, I took the mav for a drive and immediately heard a tapping/creaking sound from the driver side of the new glass. Took a look at the install and saw the glass is flush against the frame on the driver side and has about a half inch gap on the passenger side and on top. However the rear view mirror and camera look to be on center. Is this a botched install from safelite, bad glass from ford, both??

Given that you let Safelite do it, I'm going to say that is definitely a botched install. That has been my experience with Safelite 100% of the time I have used them. They are terrible.

Might have gotten the wrong windshield, there's a "regular" one and a sound deadening one that is for the Lariats

As a former windshield installer, I'd say that was a bad install. Windshield is way too low, pressed in on the drivers side and lifted on the passenger side. It is also way too close to the drivers side. Have them redo that if you can. Unacceptable.
