For you information Sir I did not order until the mid Sept, when I received an advertisement from Ford stating the Maverick would be available this Fall. When I ordered there was no information stating that was pending EPA approval or testing. So yes when I was told that my Hybrid would be here by mid December, I put faith in the sales rep. since he is waiting on his Maverick FE as well. I know there are supply chain problems and I except that in these trying time. Just remember the 5 P's, "Prior Planning Prevent Poor Performance" .
Nobody planned for a global pandemic.

No. They submitted their completed testing in June. The hybrid appears to have been selected for confirmatory testing. That's what is causing the delay. They would have been dumb to wait to see if they chosen for confirmatory testing to start production, because then none of the units would have been built yet, and we'd be waiting even longer

I'd recommend anyone who struggles with this kind of ambiguity not preorder products in the future.
The part I'm struggling with in TODAY's conversations is I have NOTHING that confirms my PRE-Order. I have an ORDER Confirmation. The DORA is short for Dealer ORDER Receipt Acknowledgement. It is NOT a Pre-DORA!!!
Nothing I have states it is a Pre-Order. So I guess my question is where did this new terminology come from? Asking for a friend.

I'm starting to think there is more to this than meets the eye. It's always easy to blame the nasty government. It may be chip but does anyone know if Ecsape production of hybrids goes on. An Escape hybrid (same drive train) sells for about 10k more. Just asking for a friend
It’s not chips. Several of us have Hybrids complete waiting on epa

Sure, but those things are never going to say "pre"-order on them, but you willingly ordered a product before its production began. Pre-order just signifies that the order was made before (i.e., pre) production started.

Don't know where to ask this so no need for bashing. Is the info on ford.com showing Mav lease offers new? I have not seen any of the info there before. Seen it yesterday for the first time.
It’s been there for a couple months now.

I think the lease offers showed up in August (i know they weren't there from the start, but they've been around for awhile).

There have been some dealers telling their customers that hybrid vehicles are delayed and won't be available for 6-8 months. Some saying there are thermal issues.

I want everyone to know they are NOT correct.

Hybrid scheduling and production continues each week.

OKTB (okay to buy) is pending EPA testing.

Information straight from the Maverick team.

I had a dealer tell me today it would be a year or more wait.
Any reasonable guess of the wait for a XL hybrid?

Well Tim says that the dealers who are saying 6-8 months are wrong, so I don't think you'll have to wait a year.

This isn't Ford's first rodeo during this crisis. Bronco and Bronco Sport came first, and both had issues with timely delivery and failed promises.

By the time Maverick was released in June, Ford should have looked at themselves honestly in the mirror, and said, "Coming soon, hopefully this fall or next"

But I think their primary obligation is to their stockholders, not their paying customers with short memories.

Ain't that the truth.

The way I see it, people have two options.

First, accept that sometimes, đź’© happens. Your truck will get arrive when it gets built. If you can accept that level of uncertainty, them just wait until it's delivered and enjoy it when it comes.

If that level of uncertainty doesn't work, then cancel the order. The deposit gets refunded so no harm, no foul.

Those are the two actions people can take that actually are effective.

Know what isn't effective? Complaining about it and making up all sorts of conspiracy theories.

🤔 It's a free country and everyone is free to ask questions and complain to their hearts content.

That being said, I don't have a problem with waiting, right now. I do have a problem with some of communication that I've received (and lack of communication).

That being said, none of that is directed @fordvideoguy . By all accounts, he's been a stand up guy, honest asset, and is much appreciated. The salesman and manager at my dealership of choice have been the same. That being said, they can only tell us what they know and in my opinion, the problem lies higher up.
