I went to the dealer to get the first oil change and I get back home and inspect the work and see the guy busted every single clip and bolt on the back of the front piece to the skid plate. I didn't want to do the first oil change but now i'm regretting not doing it myself. I'll be going back to the dealer in the morning and they're going to fix it. I was going to have them fix my tail light from coming unflush but they'll probably bust all the clips there too. I'll take pictures in the morning and post them. I don't doubt those clips and bolts (which is what I assume they were) are easy to break but how do you break every single one. They do a complimentary tire rotation with oil changes ( hopefully not this time) i'll probably find that the bolts are torqued to 250 ft lbs.

Who are these apes being hired by dealerships? Our Larry. H Miller dealership experience has been great, just had the first oil change at 4,500 miles/8 months, went great, only the best thing to say about them.

But I'm seeing a lot of other people who've had these negative experiences. Ford's dealerships have such a spread of talent and user experiences that it's insane.

I just got my oil changed this past week and after hearing the horror stories of others I’ve been scared to look below.

That's why if it is not warranty work I do it myself. If it's something too big for me to handle or don't have the exact tools to do it I have a couple garages that I trust and take it to them. I have to have the airbag recall taken care of and the second recall for the fire problem on the hybrids I have been putting it off for quite a while I'm not sure if I'm ever going to get it done or not ⁉. I've heard horror stories from other members that when they do the airbag recall the inside headliner plastic pieces are never the same and when you think about it that's really sad. 🤔🤐😱👎☠

I never take my cars to dealer unless it is a TSB fix or mandatory airbag issue. I always get the vehicle back with something new...like a scrape, paint chip or grease inside the car. Even tire changes stress me out since since they mistreat the cars and are careless...one mechanic scraped the back bumper down to the black urethane (how???!!)..could see it a mile away. Wheel torques are also never right so they need to be redone at home - helps prevent rotor warping. They just don't care anymore.

There is NO solution for the 2nd fire recall. Expected, maybe, in October but I can't imagine they're going to replace 125,000 engines. More likely they're going to just give the hybrids affected and extended warranty.

As for the airbag recall, I'm not having that done either.

100% agree I never trust them. I have convinced my wife to let me do her maintenance too. It's how I discovered over torquing the air filter housing screws on a crv by even like 5lb will snap the screw head off!

I thought my first oil change at the dealer went well until I decided to look under the hood. Oil spilled and pooled on the engine . Oil ended up blowing all over.

This was my first time ever going somewhere to get an oil change. Never again. I've done parts changes on my old rusty santa fe; radiator change (Most of the front end had to come off) fuel injectors, spark plugs, brake pedal switch, brakes and rotors and oil changes. It is an old rust bucket and I never broke any bolts or clips.
