I let the dealer do it myself. Cost me about $90 and that's oil change, change the filter, rotate the tires, 27 point inspection, top off the fluids, and once in a while they even wash your car and vacuum it out but not as often as they used to.
If I were charged 80 bucks I would definitely have the dealership do it. Why crawl around and deal with getting rid of old stuff.

I use Motorcraft filters and Mobil 1 Full Synthetic. But brand doesn't matter, as long as it meets/exceeds Ford's specs.

1) A warranty cannot be 'voided'.
2) There is no requirement to have service performed at a dealer to 'protect' a warranty.
3) There is no requirement to use Motorcraft filters or oil to 'protect' a warranty.

Just keep receipts and log services.

I'm considering buying an extended warranty and was wondering if doing your own oil changes will cause warranty problems. I have a 2023 XLT
No keep good records “ receipts etc. “

I do my oil changes annually, and buy Motorcraft 0W20 and a Motorcraft FL910S from Rockauto.

You could save $10-$15 or so buying locally and using non-Motorcraft oil but honestly the Motorcraft synthetic is pretty good.

I also like the receipt that it prints out, and I store it in a binder. Finally, I submit it to the Ford maintenance system. A lot of paperwork? Sure, but I like doing my own stuff and all the reports on here of dealers using incorrect oil types, or incorrectly doing the oil change and messing things up, just validates my reasoning. Plus I don't have to drop my car off or wait around.

With my age creep, I let dealer do it, like Quick Lane. By the way need to change name to “Quick Lane, Sometimes”.

NO kidding, but when they say your filter doesn't meet Fords specifications, then what?

It's easy to make sure the Oil does, the same can't be said for a filter.

If we can do this, I may just do all mine. Those receipts tend to fade to nothing after 3 years in the glove box.

For 79 dollars and some change, I get "the works" program done at my dealer, including full synthetic. Why would I want to go to all the trouble of changing my own oil when they can do it for that price? On my Escape I always made my appointment when the oil life got down to around 10%. Not had the Mav long enough... First oil change done just before a Christmas run down and back to SC (from MA, appx 1000 miles each way). Mileage was 3 something thousand miles when done. Truck now in the upper 10 th's, with oil life in the low 40% when I checked yesterday after a long 17.5 hour, almost 1000 mile run to northern Maine and back. Had to pick up my snowmobile from a dealer after I left it with them after it broke down. long day...

Oil = I use Mobil 1 hybrid specific 0w-20. Hybrid specific oil has more anti-corrosion additives beneficial since hybrid ICE run colder under most circumstances except long high speed driving.
