Makes no sense. Why??Has anyone done this? I’m not impressed either the panel.
Because it is way too dim. Especially on sunny days.Makes no sense. Why??
I vaguely recall someone swapping the one out of their Bronco last year.... It was at least 10"...Someone has replaced the center dashboard panel/screens (the one in front of the steering wheel) with a completely "electronic" based dash (essentially one big screen). Don't recall what model Ford they pulled it from, but I recall it was a heck of a time with the programming to get it all to function correctly. Lots of trial and error.
EDIT: Here ya go. Ford Escape digital cluster.

The brightness stops increasing at the 50% setting and going up from that to 100% brightness does not have any effect.
Its weird. I live about as close to the equator as on can get in a place know for its bright sun. I havent had any issue seeing my screen. Infact I find it a bit on the bright side most of the time. Maybe its a non lux XLT Tremor thing??I find the screen nearly useless on a sunny day. Especially if I have something in the back seat that is light in color, since the screen is perpendicular to the ground.
I'm in sunny Northern California and have the same experience as you. Non Lux XLT FX4.Its weird. I live about as close to the equator as on can get in a place know for its bright sun. Maybe they have the sunroof? I too have never had an issue seeing the screen. Its weird. I live about as close to the equator as on can get in a place know for its bright sun. The problem with the new screens they are using in the Escapes that will likely be carried over to other vehicles as well is the climate controls now lack physical buttons. Anytime a manufacturer does this it gets negative feedback yet they continue to do it. GM even did it with headlight/fog light control and people hate it.It would be nice if the 2025 refresh largely keeps the same interior (for cost measures) but replaces the 8 inch + cubby with a 10-12" thin bezel screen in the same place using the same 3 bolts to attach to the dash...and the same electrical connection.
