Just installed my mud flaps. I can only say, I hope they stay on, and I'm glad I only paid $30.

Just installed these today, with wider tires I think they look better then the stock flaps as they have better coverage. I also added screws on the inside of the flaps which fastened them much better. I wish they came with screws to begin with. Covered the rear drivers side hole too while I installed these. In the pictures you can see how much wider they are than stock.

Yeah, I’m going to put in screws before they fly off in a rainstorm…I have the screws and mollys. So I have no reason to not change with the plastics…which are loose.

I also installed screws to the little bottom projection. Should have been in the instructions, but the guy that created them has probably never seen a Maverick.

Huh, just installed, pretty straightforward, we'll see how they hold up but they seem pretty sturdy, even with the plastic hardware.

I also like these ones as they don't overlap onto the paint, so they won't scratch.

Thanks to the forum and mabett for the price here 👍

Looks like someone used the discount last week, but it is now showing as not valid. Is it still available?

edit - I also see that it was put up on Aug 10th and it's supposed to be available for a month. Wanting to order this :)

Same issue trying to leave a review ... I could rate them (i.e. stars) but not leave a written review

I noticed using the supplied pins that it was a bit sloppy - I reused the originals and they're not loose at all ... hopefully they stay that way

Got my flaps Aug 16 from my Amazon order, great so far and a great value. Like others here I’m not able to leave my Amazon review with following message:

“Amazon has noticed unusual reviewing activity on this product. Due to this activity, we have limited this product to verified purchase reviews.”

Guess I understand why Amazon has a lawsuit for their sketchy seller practices.

Anyone have issues with the front install of these Mabett flaps? Easy enough to get on but seem to be very loose and wobbly with just the clips holding them. Tried twice, first with original clips and then with new ones provided? Couple of screws like the rear would be a huge help.
I just bought and installed these too, however the discount link was not working. There was a $10 off coupon directly on Amazon though. Not sure if that was meant to be the promotion as mentioned in this thread.

There are a few people in this thread with this same complaint issues of loose fitment, which I initially experienced as well. I attempted to install these near the dealer we just bought our new ‘23 Hybrid from. I only attempted to install the fronts, but I gave up after 20 minutes of farting around (we had a few hour drive home and it was getting dark soon). Regardless if I tried re-using the factory fasteners, or try the new Mabett ones, none of the fasteners would lock in place. The outer piece would just pop back out of the inner piece, separating on their own, as soon as I took my fingers off. I attributed this issue to either incorrect installation instructions, or me interpreting them incorrectly.

The instructions refer to the two-piece fasteners as a nut and a bolt, though they are in no way threaded like regular versions and do not spin in order to tighten or loosen. These plastic nuts/bolts just push together, and they pop apart (if fully installed) with something like the small pry bar Mabett includes with the kit (flathead screwdrivers work ok too). These plastic nuts and bolts just push together to lock in place. There is also no mention whether the nuts and bolts are of different types (they ARE different on my Maverick). Anyway, the instructions tell you to remove the bolts (the outer“male pin”), put the mudflap in place, then reinstall the bolts. Nope! Not in my case. This would have otherwise left the nuts untouched and still in the fender/liner holes, the mudflap on top the nuts, then the bolts on top of that. With the mudflap sandwiched between the nuts and bolts, the nuts/bolts are no longer long enough to snap together with each other, and everything would come apart and mudflaps fall off.

After driving home from the dealer, mulling over the otherwise failed “easy” installation, I tried the process again. This time, I removed the front wheel well bolts AND NUTS, installed the mudflap in place, THEN inserted the nuts, then the bolts. Tight as could be! I then installed the rear mudflaps, which is a slightly different process, as they use two metal threaded machine screws (8mm if I recall correctly) plus one plastic nut/washer each, but got them successfully installed on the first try too. Each mudflap took about 1 minute to install, once I figured out the plastic fasteners.

For what it’s worth, I reused all my OEM fasteners, saving the new Mabett ones for future random spares. My vehicle is brand-spanking new, so I did not feel the need to toss new OEM fasteners. It’s also worth noting that the front mudflaps, which have three plastic nuts/bolts each, EACH one of the three was different. I kept track of the order they were installed, and put them back in their original locations. Why there were 3 different fasteners per front mudflap is beyond me. The heads of the fasteners look the same once installed, and they all seemed to have the same bolt length and diameter, but the bolts had different shapes. Each bolt only fit it’s matching nut, kinda like unique keys. Yet, it seemed like it would not matter which nut/bolt combo went into which hole, as they all seemed to be the same overall length and diameter requirement. Oh well, too much

I mention all of this because if you also decide to re-use your OEM nuts/bolts, pay attention to which nut goes with which bolt, or you’ll be wasting time like me trying to pair them back up correctly again. The Mabett fasteners all appeared to be the same kind, no unique shapes or keying. This is our first Ford, and while I have dealt with many other vehicles and types of plastic nut/bolt types, these OEM Ford ones were quite different from what I was used to, particularly since they were “keyed” uniquely (why???).

Lastly, Mabett’s installation instructions make no mention of the metal OEM machine screws on the rear mudflaps (2 each side). Their generic instructions simply referred to all fasteners as “bolts.” Yet, there are multiple kinds, including a mix of plastic AND metal fasteners. None of them are bolts in the traditional sense. I did not compare the single REAR mudflap plastic nut/bolt combo to see if it matched any of the FRONTS, as it was irrelevant at this point and I ran out of “give a schnitzel.”

Exactly why I will not order from them.
I'm curious, what American-made phone or computer are you using to express your concerns about not ordering Mabett Mud Flaps because they are made in China? Many items in your home are not made in the USA, including your Maverick (Mexico).

At the end of the day, Mabett, like Apple, Dell, and many other companies, chooses China for cost reasons. Some of us prioritize affordability. While we might not like it, complaining here won't address the broader issues; that's what the ballot box is for.

In any case, I ordered some Mabett Mud Flaps and received a 30% discount by clicking on the Fender Flares post link. I paid $30, which I consider a fairly decent deal.
