I'm sorry, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But it looks like it was sold to someone else a month ago. The warranty start date shows as 21-July-2023. It has over 400 miles on it now. It was sold by Long-Lewis of Hoover.
Thanks for the info. Now, what recourse do i have against the dealer? They took my order, my $500, i waited a year for it, and they sold it out from under me!

Go down to the dealership and talk in person. I dealt with their Prattville branch and my experience with the Maverick was textbook. They even sent me a video of the truck after it cleared inspection.

If anything, they still owe you $500. Go pick up the check.

Unfortunately says it was sold on or around July 22nd. Your dealer is a scumbag. By the way, unfortunately you have no recourse, a purchase and sales agreement does not constitute a contract nor would it hold up in court. Almost all of them have legal verbiage anyway allowing them to do what they want with the vehicle. This isn't a Ford thing, this is your dealer just being dishonest. The way the system works is that the dealership buys the vehicle from Ford and then sells it to you so since they technically own the vehicle they can do what they want with it. You should at the very least be able to get your deposit back and then members of this forum can put the dealer on blast if they don't make arrangements to take care of you somehow and get you a replacement.
I am going to give their management the option to refund me my $500 + something to account for their poor management of this. If they dont comply, i am going on a social media, youtube and local news "on your side" campaign to expose this reprehensible business practice.

At least you know now!

I don't know if there is much that can be done. They certainly owe you your $500 back! And interest on that?? .....they obviously didn't put any effort in trying to contact you.

I would go talk to your dealer in person, take your buyers order agreement and any copies of anything you signed. make sure you have your emails with your updates from ford readily available and make sure you have the information that everyone found for you here ready to pull up or screen shotted. be prepared to speak to a manager. hopefully they did not sell it, bit if they did i hope they will be straight forward with you.

Technically if you signed the buyers order that is you agreeing to purchase but if a manager did not sign it as well then they did not technically in writing agree to only sell it to you. unfortunately once an ordered vehicle leaves fords hands it belongs to the dealer, if they did not sign any documentation they can technically do what ever they want with it. They can sell it to whoever for whatever price they want. its really unfortunate when dealers do not honor verbal agreements and end up selling it because they could make a little extra. hopefully they can make it right or you can get in with a better dealer that will do right by you.

If they did sell it out from under you, post here, post on twitter and tag mike Levine and ford motor company. leave the dealer a bad review on google, and contact customer support and request to file and escalate a complaint. there's not to much ford can do besides trying to maybe help you get one quicker at another dealer. but they do want customers to help bring the bad dealers to light.

Get your money back, then stand out front on public property with a sign telling folks they're dishonest. Only half joking.
They deserve some bad publicity over this. I had seen youtube videos of these practices over the Mavericks but never thought this dealership would be one of those. Im disgusted and pissed

Yep. The reason I bring that up is if you go to the media, they will immediately fall back on the "we tried to contact him" and you need to be able to prove they had the right details.

Also, that is the sales agreement Sarah mentioned. That one was signed by both me and the sales manager. That is the key to proving a claim to anything.

Well, i at least have the paperwork and proof of the order. I have all the emails from Ford updating me on the progress and build date and ship date, then nothing from the dealer once it was delivered. Ive called there and talked to people in sales that said they would look it up and get back with me, but no dice....crickets....

If you have that paperwork, take it to the dealership and physically ask where your truck is. Their response will determine if we need to unleash the hounds. :)

I expect they will report that they tried and failed to contact the OP, whether they did or not.

Scummy Dealers like this reinforce the need for folks to try to keep CLOSE track of their vehicle orders and head to visit them as soon as they physically arrive. Don't even give them overnight to think about selling it for more money to someone else! Or for some jerk to come in and make them an offer that they don't want to refuse.
