My truck quit doing the creep forward when stopped in drive. I have to hit the “gas” pedal to get it going.

Anyone else seeing this?

You are not crazy. Mine does this too sometimes. I don't use the auto-hold brake feature at all. Sometimes it just does it on it's own, typically when it rolls backwards just a tad or has some level of backward pressure on it, like stopping while angled up a hill... it's like the transmission locks itself with just enough friction to not allow "idle" to pull the truck forward and you have to give it a little tap-aroo to unlock it. It usually jumps a little too, similar to pulling out of auto-hold braking.

It is definitely not the auto-hold brake though.

Mine does that all the time on a hill. It's annoying when I'm backing out of my driveway and have to push on the gas to get it to move and it goes and I have to let off the gas quick or worry about jumping out into the street. Never used the auto brake.

Are you talking about Ford's Hill Start Assist?

for a hybrid to creep it would need elec applied to the motor. to constantly stop the creep wth the brake would be wasting battery. seems the elec motor isn't idling at rest, it's off.

Except under most circumstances they do exactly that.

If it's the hill assist, it's very sensitive to any angle. Even a slight degree. Sometimes I can't even tell it's on a hill but the truck does?

Ford has supplied creep mode on hybrids to lower complaints from automatic fanatics now driving hybrids (maybe ev"s?). I believe it can be turned off but do not remember for sure. It is nice. I use mine when I want to enter my garage as I have a 1" bump and creep in Low gear will furnish enough torque to do it but not in any other drive mode. I also back into garage in my second maverick and like it because with the backup camera and rear side mirror in my XLT lux will let me get within 2" of my freezer. The rear door handle is the guide point in mirror if it has any clearance the fender well will clear!🤗

Hill assist will come on also when driving up an incline and in anticipating the top the go pedal is released and the truck starts to coast just before the hill top the hill assist will light up as it thinks the level road at top of hill is downhill (in relation to lack of uphill?).

The hybrid does creep if the Auto Hold is off

Did you accidentally turn the auto brake hold feature on?

Ken
I assume that setting is buried in the menus somewhere, but I haven’t been in there in quite a while. So I think it glitched itself there.

But now that I know it’s a feature and not a bug, I’m trying it out to see if it’s useful.

Is anyone else using this feature?

It's the button on the center console with a letter A on it.
