Aaah!! The good old Aerostars. I owned 2-3 of those things great van, got decent mpg for the time and comfortable ride. Once drove 14 hours in one day and when I arrived at destination was still ready to go. Speaking of Torx+ anyone know what size I’ll need to put on a tailgate damper. Never plan on doing anything else that requires them.
I just looked this up today, the tailgate assist requires a t50 and a t30. Modular bed liner requires a t30, t25, and an ip40, along with a 7 mm socket.

A little loose, but did you have any problems or strip them?
I didn't torque to the specified number when I put in the Drop-In Bedliner as I didn't want to strip them because they were about to slip.

Having the correct Torx Plus tools will allow me to tighten those and others to the right torque

Well, I'm 37 with 20/20 and I don't think I would have noticed that either.
I just told my friend who has a Lariat Lux about the bottle cap remover on their lift gate🙄

I hoping, and guessing not 😅! But as far as other areas including the undershield or skid plate, etc, since we know 3 different sizes are used in the bed, might as well pick up a set with a good range of sizes like huunvubu did so that if the torx plus shows up anywhere else, you already have the bits/sockets on hand to prevent delays in completing your project or service.
Just re-read this, does this mean the undershield or skid plate bolts are torx plus as well? (Don't have the truck yet)

I personally haven't crawled underneath yet to check those.

Great info! I don’t suppose you have information on the thread sizes for each?
Reason for asking is I plan on getting a spray in bed liner and will need to use a thread chaser to re-install the D-Ring cleats and other tie downs plus the bed cubbies I assume.
I believe the large bolt holding down the D-ring is M8 (TP40), the sidewall tie-downs M6 (TP27), and I discovered the 8 small screws on the tailgate panel are actually sheet metal screws (TP25)!

Ford is big on using Torx plus and E Torx Plus. Allot of the body panels mostly not so much the mechanical components unless we are talking cam phasers.

I don't know. I prefer ones that fit on a 3/8" drive socket wrench. Those look like ones for a nut driver handle. Those tend to be tight and require good grip and leverage to remove.
The Neiko set -TP8-TP30 1/4" drive, TP40-TP55 3/8" drive, TP60 1/2" drive

For the '22 Hybrid, the fibrous shield uses standard T30. T25 if you don't mind a sloppy fit.

Or stripping the bolt heads and/or your T25 lol. Why would you use a T25 when a T30 is what they are? This is a weird post. First time I've seen someone say that too.

Well, to anyone who decides to use a T25 instead, be prepared to use a rubber band to fill the gaps around the bit once the bolt heads are stripped.

TL;DR
If all you have is a T25, get a T30.
