yeah, I was all set to buy a hybrid. In the interest of actually taking delivery of the truck, I spoke to my dealer and he told me that the hybrid will be an extremely long wait, he said if I could consider an eco-boost the wait would be shorter. So an eco-boost XLT, it is.
You wanted a hybrid but your dealer Jedi mind tricked you to switch to eco boost

Honestly the more that bail the faster the rest of us get our orders. Since the hybrid chassis is the only one that can be flat towed I'll keep waiting.
Unfortunately people bailing on their orders doesn't get anyone their truck faster. If a customer abandons their order the dealer still keeps it in place so they can sell it retail. What I'm saying is that the queue doesn't get smaller, it stays the same.......Ford should have required a non refundable deposit to them directly, not the dealership when placing a Maverick order and it would have helped with fighting flippers and people ordering 4 or 5 different Mavericks from different dealers in order to ensure they got a Maverick.

I ordered my Lariat Hybrid last Sept. 16th. 2022. Took delivery yesterday 7-26-2023. The reason I had patience was I wanted the fuel economy of the Hybrid.
I ordered a hybrid Lariat and in that trim the hybrid engine is cheaper than the ecoboost by $720. But that's not the reason I chose the hybrid. I just think hybrids are COOL. I like how they turn wasted energy into usable energy, kind of like farmers raising a pig so they can feed it slop. The pig turns the slop into food for the farmer.

Yeah, and you don't have to shoot the Maverick in the head when it reaches 250 pounds!

Don't forget the $500 Farm Bureau credit. I received my documents yesterday from Illinois even though I am in Texas. I paid the fee on June 30th of 2023 and it expires one year later. Still can't get the Ford site to recognize the membership ID.

For the past several months it was obvious to me that the Maverick production would eventually catch up with demand. This is NOT a Ford GT. I think 2024 will still see long wait times of a few months. I also think by March the backlog will be in line with other Ford vehicles.
Interest rates don't promote sales, but honestly if you need a new vehicle the Maverick pricing puts it ahead of others as far as payments. Now that gas prices are going back up, the problem that is hardest to fix will still be Hybrid production. Remember Ford wanted owners to switch to the EcoBoost, and that helped some for 2023 production.
Just glad I got my 23 Lariat Hybrid. Still exceeding my expectations.
My understanding is around 100k 23 mavericks will be built, but the upper band for 24 is 180k. There will be stock orders eventually around the time we learn about the 25 maverick. If there are new and popular features on the 25s those stock 24 mavericks will not get anywhere near what dealers can get now.

I've seen this posted on here a lot - the Farm Bureau thing.
Sounds like all the coupon codes online for things that just don't work.
Even if it works - which in your case it hasn't - seems like a lot of work for $500.

As far as I know the order banks are still open. I guess it’s safe to assume Ford priced out a decent amount of people. If in fact they can do 10 to 11,000 per month I'm wondering if delivery times will improve? One can hope, right?
It’s all guesswork right now I think. BUT, that being said, i think there’s good indicators that things will be different this year.

For one, everything I’ve seen indicates SIGNIFICANTLY fewer orders overall for the 24s than the last two years. Ford has also cut back how many hybrid orders they were going to take this year to begin with, to avoid the 23 problems. And with the EB engine now standard instead of hybrid, that’s going to inevitably reduce the relative percentage of hybrid orders. All That and the expectation of really high hybrid waits has driven hybrid demand down notably i think (though there is certainly still a lot to begin with)

Next, it looks like production is going to be way up finally, and most parts shortages are being resolved—overall. Not as many limfacs for production as a whole.

Lastly , (and this is the real wildcard), global economic factors may potentially crush automotive demand by end of this year. I’ve seen a handful of reliable economist forecasts indicating the potential for millions of unsold cars just sitting by the end of the year. If that does happen (we’ll see), it also means there could be some price cuts (especially used cars), and very likely we would see competitive dealer incentives— like notably reduced APRs or cash back deals.

That last part though is going to be super dependent on when your Mav becomes available and what deals are available at that time (and if that downturn even happens to begin with)

There usually isn't a lot of work. Just a quick FB registration. My dealer pulled up the code when my truck was in. Two minutes work for $500. You'd have to be a fool not to do it.

There isn't a 180,000 Maverick capacity at the plant unless they stopped making Bronco Sports. Ford hasn't announced the third shift ratio of Maverick to Bronco Sports but they usually build more Sports so the 80,000 increase for third shift may be 50,000 Sports and 30,000 Mavericks.

Yessir. Easiest $500 I’ve ever saved.

We are kind of at an odd spot to order/take delivery so I'm not surprised at all that order banks remain open.

An early bird who ordered and received (late-21/early-22) got better pricing and access to better financing. Someone like myself who didn't know of the Maverick in 21 and is just taking delivery now (mid-23) is paying a fair bit more and low rates from Ford are unobtanium. With the latest jump in prices and rates still climbing/no Ford Credit incentives, I personally would not order a 24 (unless I'm a 23 roll-over), not just those two reasons but also because a refresh is probably coming in 25.

If one has reliable transportation and/or can wait it out until mid-late 2024, give it until that refresh is announced next year and Ford undoubtedly will have incentives and/or promotions on the plethora of dealer stock 24 Eco's that they are needing to move. Just my opinion and towards Eco models only, hybrids, well.. best of luck to you, we can only hope Ford increases capacity on those).

Sounds right. I put in a hybrid MY24 order that will most likely roll over to the MY25 (if my dealer will let it roll over) and I'll be ahead in terms of priority of the next person trying to put in a MY25 order.

you have to print your $500 certificate yourself on the Farm Bureau site and give it to your dealer. The dealer will enter your cert# into "Smart Vincent" then it will show up on your invoice when your go in to pick up your truck. Also take a copy of the cert in with your on pick up day.

Yep Flippers are out. Now I am seeing "Mav orderbanks are open hurry before they close" Advertisements.. Still a good buy but not what is was. Hmm I just wonder if incentive could be coming??
I got a Ford mailer today... If you want to know what ISN'T selling, it appears to be:
2023 Ford Escapes...0.9% for 36 months, PLUS $1000 "Trade Assist"
2023 For Explorer XLT ...0.9% for 36 months, PLUS $1000 "Customer cash"
2023 Ford F-150...1.9% for 36 months, $1000 Trade Assist AND $500 customer cash.

The 2023 Bronco Sport got a mention, but no discount financing or offers...(YET).
