Thanks for the hitch write-up, great detail. Just got the fascia removed, but 4 retaining clips popped off and I'm not sure from where? Anyone know where they came from?

Hello Maverick members!

Posting another option for a custom Hitch. Of course I recommend to buy yours with the factory one, but for those who did not, here is the story:
-Paid $150 to a local machine shop (with my drawings) + Hitch tube ($18) + Connector ($16) from Amazon
-3/16" steel
-(4) 304 SS 1/2" Bolts with Lock Nuts ($20)
-Rated at 3,540 lbs. with a 4x Safety Factor
-3 hrs. installation time

Any help on the install of the wiring? Planning to do this myself this weekend.

Any help always welcome! Thanks!
I ordered the Tekonsha Trailer Hitch Wiring from ebay. Seems plug & play for Maverick. Just battery and ground, all other connections with factory style connectors!

@riveraca @aaustinbrown Can you be more specific on what you need help with, is it routing of wire, or did your kits not come with instructions?

Thank you! Kit came with instructions and it was basically a plug-in system! I installed it last weekend in less than an hour. So at this point all done!

Now in the look out of a new trailer for 2 ATV's!!

Hello Maverick members!

hh.jpg
Seems like a lot of work but that looks far better than anything else I've seen.
How wide is the rear crash bar in the 'sandwich' direction?

Width is 2 inches. I added 1/16" clearance for easy installation. Removal of the crash bar was not necessary but removing the bumper fascia took 30 mins.

Very nice workmanship & design, but can I ask how you arrived at your rated weight value?

@Adospeed I have the same question. Could you share your knowledge again? Thank you.
@tngarren
.......Thank you and glad they helped. Gosh, I can't recall where those would be from, but as I was looking at my pictures, I came up with the following - I would say take a look at:
1. Along the "wings" of the fascia, where it attaches to the wheel liner, pic attached. You can see similar clamps.
2. Or at the rear right side of the truck where the bumper fascia attaches to a plastic box-like piece.

Engineering calculation of the machined part. But remember the towing limits of the truck shall be respected!

Got around to installing the Ford Tow Hitch on my truck.

I did not install a 4 pin connector yet. It's not hard, it's just tedious because of all the screws you are removing. I am attaching a PDF so that if anyone wants to use it as a baseline, or eventually develop one with 4 pin connector install, feel fee. ***This is for sharing purposes only, and I'm not a technician, so I don't take any responsibility for your DIY efforts.*** My personal note, if you are mechanically inclined, you can do this.
