My main sales rep at my local Ford dealership told me that she’s only had 7 orders so far. Last year they 60 in the same time period. This is the entire dealership, 7 orders. I know it’s antidotal but that’s pretty shocking. What are you all seeing?

I may have been right…Only the official numbers will tell though.

My Salesperson said they had 300. (Large Dealership off I95, between Jacksonville, and Daytona)! I guess it depends of where you are, and what dealership.

A loaded Maverick has a little less than $1000 mark up. This is what sales people usually get paid on. It is about 20% commission, but that also depends on the dealership. Now how many people order fully loaded Mavericks?
Does the sales person receive any commission from accessories that I purchase at the dealership when the truck is delivered? And would it make any difference if I purchase the accessories through the ford website?

See that, but don't see anything about 6 month requirement.

Or even 6 month's and a day either.

Also the language "May be required to reimburse....." No teeth in that.
"They can't make me" is not the issue.
The 6 month (no teeth) requirement is a different section that I posted before. Here it is again... Ford doesn't claim that it will take action against the purchaser. They will address the process as to how you were able to receive your X-Plan PIN. I guarantee you that if the Mustang Club of America X-Plan participants were mostly "flippers", that X-Plan ability by MCOA membership would be at least reconsidered by Ford.

My wife and I are 80 and got those ss increases and I got the 8.7% on my va disability. We have had to cut back on our eating out due to 40-60% increase there. Our weekly trip to grocery store is up about 80%. The bottom line is the SS increase was not enough to cover inflation. I feel for those who for some reason have not been able to increase their income. Perhaps it's time to have a serious talk with employer. However I have learned in my 80 years it's not what you earn as much as it's what you do not spend. In 1980's I knew a guy who drove a 20+ year old Volkswagen buying insurance and driving it for three weeks on vacation to visit his mother, cancelling insurance when he got back. Put back on blocks in garage until following year. Had no AC in house and kept thermostat at 50-52°F in winter. Was divorced (I'm not sure why?). Rode bicycle to work even in snow which got his picture in newspaper. Turned burner off on gas water heater and left pilot on to take chill off water for showers. Volkswagen got pretty rusty so one year he painted it green with a foam brush. We had a pot at the office for how much the paint job on car cost but we never could find out so just bought donuts. He made pretty good salary and no one ever saw him spend much.

Unemployment is lowest because many are not looking for work some of whom get so many benefits they cannot afford to work for less than $70-$80k per year.
Take your political BS talk to the truth social outlet for the rest of your kind... FFS crying about not being able to afford the cheapest truck Ford makes. 70k a year in social benefits are you kidding me. These are all the people out there with 22 kids there getting government help with?

And how exactly does Ford Know if you kept a Title for 6 months???

Is what you are describing an actual clause in X-Plan pricing requirements and restrictions (if yes, please cite accordingly).

Anyone can suppose anything, but try to keep it reasonable.
States report when vehicles are sold and registered. Ford gets the data monthly.

Since January 2021 Inflation has peaked at 9.1% while wage growth peaked at 6.7%.
Unless your income has increased by more than 15%, you probably have way less buying power now than you did in 2020.
Unemployment is calculated to be low right now because so many have stopped looking for work or are now on disability or other government assistance.
A 2024 Maverick XL hybrid MSRP is more than 20% higher than it was two years ago.
If you think the federal government has done a good job with our economy, you do not understand basic mathematics.

Another reason for ordering drops.....Applications for all types of loans is down 30% since the start of the year...so car loans are included in those statistics. The average car loan deny rate is also ticking up since interest rates have ticked up and lenders are tightening their belts since they are afraid of future loan defaults......same issue that happened years ago when inflation took off. So the car loan denial rate went from 9% in Feb to a current 14.5 % denial rate. This coupled with the continual price increases and production waits for the Maverick will lead to drop in consumer demand. AMDs are over...read about the Corvette disaster flippers are now stuck in. It had to end sometime and it has. Car sales in general are going to fade as the year goes on.

I asked the rep who sold me my truck. He told me he does not get any commission on accessories that were not included on the original order. I had the dealer do the spray-in bedliner, window tinting, splash guards and ceramic coating AFTER my truck was delivered, but he did not make anything on those items.

Maybe... maybe not. Depends on how the deal is structured. Ford kicks some money back towards accessories, but they have to be over a certain amount

All good points. This is happening because the Fed is trying to gradually slow down a hot economy by raising interest rates. It's a delicate balancing act, reducing inflation while not throwing consumers out of work, who then wouldn't be able to purchase a car, thereby lowering demand and possibly causing a recession. If you're retired losing your job is less a concern.

Everytime I see a post like this I'm reminded of this funny scene from the movie Fargo where the shady salesman forces a customer to buy "Truecoat."
Perfectly captured all dealerships hahaha

Even with competing models, the maverick will still have strong sales, due to price and fuel economy. Of course they won't be "crazy" like the past 2+ years, but strong enough to sell every maverick built in the near future. Ford doesn't need or probably WANT the craziness of the past 2+ years of mavericks, pissing off customers who leave and don't come back, they just need and want to sell every maverick they can at msrp with no incentives. Just my .02
AMEN!
