Sorry, I didn't mean to mislead.

ABSOLUTELY you need the dealer's approval and your DORA preview order should list your X-Plan price. You just don't need to have your X-Plan PIN available at the time of order...only the time of purchase. Ford taught me that when I first had 100 shares of Ford stock that USED to let you have X-Plan. You had to hold stock for 6 months to request a PIN. My first Maverick order was made 4 months into stock ownership, so I would not have been able to take delivery for 2 months. Ford told me to go ahead and order as I would not need the PIN until delivery, so I did, back in 2021. That PIN expired without use as I waited 491 days. Ford has discontinued that X-Plan eligibility from stock ownership..

I now enjoy a Friends & Family link to X-plan eligibility and my PIN can be generated quickly when I find delivery is on the horizon. I think the Mustang Club of America X-Plan eligibility can also come quickly...AFTER being a member for the required 90 days.

But the key is always that the DEALER agrees to sell to you via X-Plan, and that agreement is evidenced by the X-Plan price showing up on the DORA preview order.

My dealer agreed to x-plan pricing but it's not shown on my 2024 order form.

Do you know how I can tell what the x-plan pricing supposed to be?

If you keep the title less than 6 months, suppose Ford could disable your ability to participate in future x-plan pricing.
Here is the section:

I just looked and they apparently haven't released 2024 x plan pricing. It's really dependent on trim but I think I saved a few hundred dollars on the MSRP of my 2022 XL. The real savings for me were doc fees. In Virginia dealer doc fees are $899, X plan capped those at $100.

If your dealer agreed to it, and is submitting it as an "Order Type: X-Plan" (which will show on your window sticker), then your preview order should show the X-plan pricing. It should look like this:

My 7/17 order shows the pricing. It is simply Dealer invoice on all items, LESS 0.4% discount, PLUS $275 Program fee. They just show the final total on the Preview Order, but if you check the dealer invoice costs (elsewhere on MTC), you can see how they got to it. My 2023 calculation was off by $26.61. So some item was probably changed in the dealer invoice schedule. Still close. I have not yet checked the 2024 calculation....but it is LESS savings than it was in 2023 for X-plan.

You are correct, and so am I.... as I stated " less destination", with the $1595 destination charge on top of the base hybrid list of $24900(as I stated) you get the $26495( as you stated).
I just wish Ford would clearly state the shipping with their prices. The Maverick never really was $19,995.

You must have a dud, our 2018 Corolla base model's backup camera was 3 times better than the Maverick in my opinion.

"Better" is a subjective term but I'd bet my life on a Tacoma over a Maverick any day.

Even if they lowered the price of the Maverick back down to $19,999 and lowered the delivery fee to $1000 instead of $1500, it still wouldn't be worth it with the amount of problems it has. Mine spent 4 of the 6 months I owned it at the dealership until I got rid of it. They supposedly "took care" of the wire harness issue but everyone is still having the same deep sleep mode/dead battery issues.
I am not saying that Ford has better quality than Toyota. What I am saying the 4runner and Tacoma cameras are similar, not good quality. Not a dud, more like a 2003 Nokia type camera quality. 4runner is probably the most reliable Toyota as its built still in Japan going on its 14th year in production for the 5th generation. However I want to get the hybrid mav due to my short commutes and the 40+mpg vs 12mpg I get in city driving makes a difference.

My main sales rep at my local Ford dealership told me that she’s only had 7 orders so far. Last year they 60 in the same time period. This is the entire dealership, 7 orders. I know it’s antidotal but that’s pretty shocking. What are you all seeing?

I may have been right…Only the official numbers will tell though.

Any speculation how long the order banks will stay open this year?

Besides the dora, there maybe something like the order type indicating x-plan pricing in a screenshot of the COVP lookup. My order went in without the x-pan in October 2021 and had an Order Type 1. Perhaps it is an X or something for x-plan.

Ford Maverick Reports from a salesperson (low order numbers for 2024 Maverick) ROVP-MavrickOrderRub-lastNam

My daughter was emailed a purchase contract to sign, which did have text 'Will have x-plan pricing when available and the x-plan#, The second page was the DORA without the bottom discount plan prices. My daughter sent the signed purchase contract with her passbook id and copy of license, as my daughter is waiting to receive the replacement drivers license that was lost. On of the documents was un readable and my daughter resent things after closing and the sales manager's day off was July 19th. No big deal as they also sent her a copy of the ford email July 28 11:42AM and she received the Ford email at 11:53AM. Needless to say they entered the order and then got the signed paper work, verification and called separately with my Ford Visa for the $500 deposit. The charge hit my card July 21, but assume with the communication the COVP was entered July 20th. Yes a lot of details why not to worried about not having DORA with x-plan pricing and think the Order Type in the R/COVP system should validate the x-plan pricing.

Will ask my daughter to send a thanking to the sales manager for his help and could he text her a screen shoot of the approved COVP. Also ask how many allocations the dealership had and were she is in line. Assumed they did not have roll overs but should probably ask. As know last year they had 14 initial allocations and 10 rollovers.

If you check around this forum, it appears that Ford gave dealers allocation numbers, so they aren't overselling. Once the dealer has sold enough, they are done. So if you want one, it is a matter of finding a dealer who has allocations left.

I reordered my 2023-2024. If Fords promised buyer protection does not cover the full difference I will walk away from the order though. I'm not paying an additional $4500 for nothing.
You are missing the fact that the $4500 is the "nothing". I am paying about 30% more for a fast food chicken meal than I was a year ago. So even Steven on a 25k maverick would be $7,500 increase......

Between the increase and wait, it has worked for me.
I have decided my existing truck (2013) has a new lease on life. I will wait to see what ‘25 has to offer.
The build price I need is approaching other trucks. Seems better to say goodbye to Ford Maverick for now.
I have mine so I am going to join the waiting list for 50 or so solar panels. And several electric assist bicycle's, backup batteries and backup well pump for when real shortages come about.

What if you borrow the entire amount and sell the truck before you ever make a payment?
If the flipper has 36k in his cookie jar and flips a 36k maverick in 30 days that return is 133.33% APR. Could easily work out to $1k /hour or more. What if he/she made 8k instead of 4? If he financed the 36, depending on lender agreement he could have 90 to 120 days minimum interest charge to offset some of his profit.
